[CP] Round up of the last couple of days

Day 1,265, 15:54 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Artela

With apologies to those of you who read the forums announcements as you will have already seen this.

It was an interesting and incredibly busy first 30 hours as CP. Someone in congress decided they knew better than the electorate who elected me and proposed an impeachment (which failed) and then someone else in congress decided to forego a small things called “due process” and propose a Natural Enemy (NE) against Ireland which sparked a counter-proposal from Ireland. Both NE proposals failed. There is now a debate ongoing in the UK Forums about a potential NE.

Now on to the question of why there is no separate MOF this month. As congress now set the budget, and since the MOF no longer regulates markets or organises currency trading, the second person who will keep an eye on monetary matters and look after the public purse for this month will be the highly experienced deputy CP, meaning that there really was no need for a separate MOF. I hope that clears up that little point for everyone.

Apart from all that you’ll be pleased to hear that the cabinet is up and running with the various ministers getting their staffing and timetables for the month sorted out and getting started on the work of implementing the manifesto for May. Going forward, as promised, there will be regular reports and you can expect to see weekly summaries from MOHA, MOFA and MOD attached into these updates. The business of government proceeds apace and I present for your delectation the first of the promised weekly reports from the MOHA below.

MoHA Report
It’s been a productive weekend since the election. The staff are all assembled and working in their individual areas, all centred around recruiting new players and keeping them once they get here. To that end, this is what we’ve been up to so far:

-Messaging eBabies: Every day or so I’ve been and will continue to message new players in the country, pointing them to guides and gifting programs and offering a helping hand.

-Continuing the Library Project: A fantastic idea that we’re continuing this month- we want a comprehensive guide to all things eRep, to be placed in the citizen advice section of the forums (in introductions) and part-released in articles sometimes. The goal is to be able to answer any common questions and give more knowledge, hopefully making it more likely players will stay around and get involved.

-Fun and Games: The first bit of fun of the month is up- a caption competition here- viewtopic.php?f=9&t=66664 . Get involved for a chance to win 5 Q5 weapons. This, along with some other competitions and trivia, will observe a theme each week- it’s Star Wars week first up.

-Recruitment Committee: Pineapple64 is organising the committee now- feel free to PM him if you’re interested in getting involved, it’s an important job that badly needs volunteers.

-Articles: We’ve released two articles so far- the first introducing the week and team, the second from the honours committee- well worth a read. In the next day or two there’ll be an in game competition and a help article out too- look out for them and vote please!

That’s it from the MoHA for now. If you have any suggestions, items or currency you want to donate for new players, or want to get involved, please find me on IRC or send me a PM.

Talon Karrde
Minister of Home Affairs
