[Artela] Domestic Affairs: Fire & Ice

Day 1,228, 17:54 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Artela

This first part of my manifesto will concentrate on the Domestic Affairs which fall under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Other areas will follow over the next few days.

I decided this month that there should be a theme... and so I present for you

Fun is key to retaining players in the game once they get here. If it’s not fun, people leave. We have to keep people Involved in the game and help them to get the most out of it. We need to focus on the Retention of players in the eUK, and one way to do this is to keep them Entertained.

So, to help with all of this the MoHA will be once again tasked with their usual fine job of running fun and games, both on the UK forums and, where possible, in-game. If you elect me this month will see the continuation of monthly Monarch Week, and the introduction of monthly Oscars-style awards to be voted on by citizens during that week, ending with a grand ceremony to grant the awards on the final evening. There will be serious categories; there will be fun categories; there will be downright silly categories.

tl;dr version:
Fun
Involvement
Retention
Entertainment

Communication is key to making sure that everyone has the Information that they need so that they know what is going on in the UK, and also to ensuring that everyone is Educated about the latest changes in the game. Education is also vital to ensure that our new young citizens know how to lead happy and productive eLives, and where to get help if they stumble.

Recently UK First newspaper has been published regularly by the MoHA, and I would like to see this continue as the primary news source for all citizens so that everyone knows where to go for their national news. I also believe strongly in regular updates from all ministers, including the Prime Minister, and these will be provided through both the forums and in-game.

As an aid to all citizens I want to introduce a “Citizens Advice Bureau” as a one stop shop for all citizens in need of assistance and guidance. In addition I want to see the release of education articles through the national newspaper system at least a couple of times per week, and people will be encouraged to submit such articles to the MOHA for publication.

tl;dr version:
Inform
Communicate
Educate
