[Artela] CP Foreign Affairs Manifesto

Day 1,259, 15:24 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Artela

Good evening,

Tonight I am presenting my foreign affairs manifesto. Having left the Terra alliance this month, our future is in our own hands. What we decide now in many ways will define the future of the UK for the next six months. It is vitally important that we take the key elements of our past and combine them with the reality of our present situation to make a foreign policy which is realistic, fun and has longevity.

Firstly, and most importantly, we are committed to defending our friends and brothers in Western Europe. France and Germany are our closest allies, and we will defend them to our last breath before all other considerations.

Beyond this cornerstone, foreign policy will be a matter of building friendships, strengthening MPPs, and keeping non-hostile relations with neighbouring powers. Committing to any sort of alliance now breaks the fragile bonds we share with our friends in both alliances, and commits us to a foreign policy a country the size of the UK simply can’t handle. We will however continue with our outreach programme to our allies and potential friends through the use of summits.

Our relationship with Ireland is necessarily an antagonistic one. For a country as small as the UK, projecting our influence into Europe or North America is impossible. Our world at the moment consists of these Islands, and let’s be honest: the Irish enjoy it as much as we do. They have resources we need and provide an outlet for our citizens. We will support any attempt to resolve this antagonistic relationship in our favour.

War then has to be a matter of practicality and assuming modest and achievable goals. NEing far stronger nations is suicidal. Frittering away resources on ego wars which should be saved for proper wars which would directly benefit us is absurd. When we’re not in a direct war ourselves, properly arranged training wars will be used to give us our Natural Enemy to assist people with building their stats.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) will continue to work closely with the Minister of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Country President (CP) to make changes to the army economic model to cater for the latest set of Admin changes which are due to come into force this term. In addition the Military Honours Committee are revamping the awards for our armed forces in order to properly reward those who put in extra effort and go the extra mile on behalf of the UK and her allies and I fully support this.

Currently the UK Special Forces (UKSF) British Armed Forces unit is the first National Armed Forces unit to be run autonomously as a separate entity under the MOD and Defence Staff. It is intended that the three divisions that form the UK Armed Forces (Army, Navy and RAF) should follow suit in order to grow and develop their own cultures under the same umbrella organisation. In addition, any independent militias who wish to help increase the damage in nationally organised military strikes and battles will be encouraged to take their orders direct from the MOD alongside the National Units.

For the past six months I have moved in and out of various positions on an international scale. Being CP isn’t just a matter of being active and having strong decision making abilities- though those are the most important skills a candidate needs. It is also about having contacts, an awareness of the international situation and the nous to use them for the benefit of the country you lead. I hope that the time I have served as MoD of the UK and on an international level have given me the experience to do a good job, and I’m asking you to put your faith and trust in my leadership.

All the best
