Why I voted no to war.
Tiacha
President Theodore Roosevelt once spoke to speak softly but carry the big stick in regards to American imperialism. We saw this policy enacted during project Iraqi freedom. While war in some cases may be justified, I've been given no good reasons why this war is either justified or needed.
Spain is already winning the war against Peace. Why do we need to risk our soldiers with the wellness bug coming back up today? How can we be sure it'll be gone tomorrow.
While war may stimulate the economy for a while, what do we do after the war? Is this really a long term solution for the food, gift, or weapon industry? We need to encourage more people to start domestic business.
I really see no long term benefit to this war. It is the reason why I use Congresswoman Barbara Lee's picture as my avatar. She had the courage to vote no when everyone else in Congress voted yes. Congresswoman Lee was the one member of Congress to vote No on the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists on September 18th, 2001 which gave President Bush power to act against the terrorists who attacked America on September 11th. She believed that the United States should not act without thinking with an emotional response which concentrated too much power into the Office of the Presidency.
Call me a protectionist, isolationist, anti-American or what have you. I love America just as much as any one of you do. A true patriot voices her decent even when all of the country pushes for her to conform. War is coming, but it doesn't mean we need to go into it blind.

Thank you, Tiacha, for standing firm for your beliefs. It is rare that people do so these days. Many go with the flow or they support the popular cause; perhaps voting so that their companies can make an extra dollar. Your viewpoint is refreshing and while, in the future, I may not agree with your every position I will be proud to stand firm for your right to have it.
Voted. Subscribed.

My 2/cents.. Better to fight Spain on somebody else's land than on our own. 🙂
Expanding and securing your borders is a good enough reason imo. This war will knock PEACE out of western europe.
I completely agree.
What are we going to do with new French lands and a bunch of pissed of Frenchies? They will corrupts our businesses and harm our politics.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we fighting WITH Spain?
Tiacha,
I want to thank you for this. I was expecting some no's to come up, but I didn't think there would be an explanation. Your explanation is clearly written, and has some pretty good points. Though the war can't be stopped, I want to thank you for standing up for what you believe in.
Thank you,
Panther
Vincent: We are. Hence why I don't find a reason to go in there. The Spaniards are already winning the war.
Billy after the war French people may make up 5% of our entire population. And really what do we do with regions like North Dakota and stuff. The war will help out our economy as well as get our Congressmen experience.
Well it isn't that i disagree with you.
it's just that by Spain using " Target Practice" Their boys get stronger, and even if their economy only sparks for a little bit-every moment counts
Like in WW2 when the boys came home-everything boomed.
I for one bought many guns to prepare.....I wouldn't have done that if it wasn't for the war. So the pre-step has helped already, and people will buy more.
Idk...that's just my opinion.
I agree that the war might not be the best idea. It seems that when we win, since if won't be an issue if the Spanish war is any indication, we will have the problem of having to occupy a land filled with people who don't want us there. What happens then? Will the eUSA really fight in a resistance war AGAINST the nation trying to free itself? Such an action would be a contradiction of everything America has historically stood for. If PEACE doesn't collapse with a French defeat then we have even more of a problem on our hands.
Neil France won't try to free itself in the U.S. regions. If they do attempt to be liberated they will do it in the weaker Canadian regions or in Paris.
NOT going to war is a national security issue IMO. I have my reasons.
in rl ,euorpe took a survey on whether if they had they opprotunity to that they would move to the US, and France surpisingly had the highest with 60%
We gain nothing from the regions.
France has:
HIGH wood, grain
MEDIUM iron, grain
LOW (Not Found) - Oil and Diamonds
We need regions with high diamonds or regions with high iron. Neither of which are in France.
War can be good and it can be bad, just depends on all the factors, problem is, a lot of times we can only see a couple of the 100s of factors that will affect the war and what happens after.
Billy there are more to wars then just resources. A war with France would cause a boom in the economy and in activity levels across the country. Besides if you want us to take a region with higher diamond and Iron levels we will need to go through a few countries first to get them.
And the reason we are dividing up France is because Spain is not going to be able to take all of France. They are most likely going to move on to Italy and Portugal where we won't be able to help them out.
i thought this was a video game? Dude this has jack to do with the iraq war its a game thats it
Why don't we have another mock war. I hardly consider this a videogame as there is no objective.
@DF: They might start with a weaker Canadian controlled area, but sooner or later they're going to want their country back.
The war is locked in as far as the votes are concerned, the question now is what do we do when it's over. Read my article and you'll see what I think our options are.

You have my full support, Tiacha
who made this a game just about economics? I thought this was also a political and social simulation?
Well, Peter, I rather think the admins did when they made it necessary for every single person to work in order to buy food, or else they die. That was probably the start of it.
that's a part of the simulation, but that doesn't mean it's all just economics
Neil we have 5X the population of the ENTIRE french population, they won't be able to liberate the whole country considering they have to go through Spain, Sweeden, the Uk, and the U.S. after taking back all for Canadaian regions
I won't echo what others said about war and economy being interconnected.
Unfortunately the social aspect of this game is non-existent. Admins made sure of that when they instituted limits on PMs instead of expanding the system. So the only things that are left are economics and war. Since 90% of the population cannot afford to open their own business, war is everything the majority of players have aside from two-clicking.
The War is Ruining America!
I definetly Agree with you Tiacha!
