Wanna take this up with all of MOO? And the CAF is not old boys club. we have plenty of noobs, and everyone can join, so I don't see the problem. And besides, this is going to increase the value.

The CAF and TCO have both seen drastic budget cuts. The value of the cad has dropped by a ton.

The price of weapons is dirt cheap, probably the cheapest (in terms of gold) that they have ever been.

Where is this club and how do you join it?

The average eCanadian is free to join the CAf and TCO, accually they are encouraged.

We simply need to be able to afford MPP's and bring back the regular funding to the militaries that just recieved a cut.

As an average eCanadian citizen they should want to and feel proud to contribute a little more of eRep's fake money to keeping us competitive with most of the other eCountries to keeping our borders safe, and to keep eCanada in the game.

joining the CAF and TCO means having to work at specific places often against a person's desire.....all ecanadians should be entitled to funding without having to be in these groups....THE GROUP SHOULD ONLY BE ECANADA

When does someone work agaisnt there "desire"? Its pretty easy to quit jobs if I know game mechanics.

I believe the only requirment to be in the CAF is to meet roll call once a week, pretty tough stuff to recieve supplies to fight.

TCO does require you to work in our companies, we are not funded as much, but i would ask you to ask 100 eCanadians if we are forcing them into anything, they are free to leave anytime.

Petz are MPP's important?

Is eCanada's ability to focus a large amount of damage at certain times to certain mini battles important?

All the more reason for people to invest in 3 companies (2 Grain and 1 Food) to begin feeding yourself. You'll pay way less tax, not contribute to the inflation problem (you'll be consuming what you produce), and rely less on the govt to pay for supplies.

The self-sufficient citizen is a tax-free soldier with double or quadruple the skill gain. And it only costs you 30 Gold.

I find the MOO herd posting hilarious, you are both wrong in justification of MOO and VAT.

1) TemujinBC, unless you want to give Addy credit for making the CAD to Gold value from 40ish to 100ish then Addy and MOO didn't cause that. Weapons are so cheap because prices (from business owners) aren't increasing to double the rate like the MM did, nor are wages. The only thing VAT has done is generate more money for the government and take more from citizens, here is an example for when you say something about it

(Income tax lowered from 5% to 1😵 Joe Green makes 25 CAD a day as regular wage, now he only loses .25 CAD to the government. Now time to go buy food, just for owning one company, that costs Joe almost 1 CAD there. Then Joe wants to fight for Mexico so Poland can't take over North America, he just buys 50 HP worth of food. But it costs him almost 5 CAD in taxes! So instead of paying 1.50 CAD at the most to the government, you now have 60 HP and it costs you 6 CAD more then it did before VAT, MOOving to the poor house!

2) Crisfire, this was a good idea, until I remembered TCO buys from US markets and both make you work for 3 CAD a day ranging from all the time to one week a month. So that would end up costing you around 22 CAD everyday forever, or 170 CAD per month. Which simply put either means you guys want to force people to be in militia and armies or Petz hit the nail on the head.

3) Plugson, thank god you feed nothing stupid, good man!

In the end, this is costing everyone that isn't TCO, CAF, or Business Gurus; money, which translated over means The Old Boys Club. I don't disagree with taking the CAD out of the system, but that isn't even happening because it is sent to CAF or TCO. So in the end, Addy's policy did the reverse of what he said it would, got graphs for that?

When in fact the rise of VAt is a huge tax increase. When running your own grain and food company's a owner now pays 20% VAT on the food that is produced for self consumption. talk about tax grabs. Yes we all know that if your quick on your mouse buttons you can list your foods on the markets for as low as $0.01 and hope that no one else is shopping for the same Quality food at that moment. But that is tax evasion and I'm sure that majority of canadian are of higher moral standards then ripping their own country off.

Sadly, I got to agree on one thing. We are more taxed than ever.

I've noticed of that the Moo party is made up of mainly businessmen with multiples of companies in each of their stables. There was one way for these business guru's to actually have to pay taxes. that way through income tax. When they wanted to to take the profits out of their companies they were forced to pay the 5% income tax, no loop holes around that tax. Now with income at 1% and VAT at 20% they can sell to them selves at $0.01 and pay 20% on a single cent. I foresee a huge growth in a Canadian black market

Actually, when the CAD deteriorates, THAT means less money in your pocket. This will keep happening until Admins stop using their bots to buy excess stock on the market.

Most of you people wanted congress to do something about the value of CAD and that is what we tried to do by passing this Tax. This will take some of that fake money Admins print out of the system.

Also, our government is poor and with the value of CAD as it is, it will be very hard to afford to pay MPP's and other kind of deals.

By the way, the money Admins are printing for us is faker than the fake money we used to play with. I don't know you guys, but it's not longer amusing to own a company when you know everyone else does. This economic module does not make any sense to me anymore.

Do the math. Income tax went from 15% to 1% while the VAT went up a similar amount. That means the *average* citizen is paying less tax, while high consumption citizens are paying more. If you spend less CAD than you make as salary, then you are paying less taxes. If you spend more CAD than you make from your job, you are paying more. The only people who can do that are business owners and govenment supplied soldiers. The average citizen is paying less.

The reasons why taxes are a moral obligation in RL is that taxes fund social programs and institutions.
It builds your roads, pays for police and fire, employs teachers, feeds the needy, pays our electected officials, and supports our soldiers:

In eCanada, taxes ONLY pay for for MPPs and CAF/TCO funding right now - 50% MPP and 50% military funding (after the cutback).
Every citizen is a soldier. We all fight and work with equal ability. That equal ability is eroded when we pay for other people's training and supplies and then prices go up to fund this. Soldiers are citizens and citizens are soldiers. You aren't committing a sin by paying yourself to become a better soldier. I consider it more wrong to privilege the improvement of others on the backs of those who work and fight each day as 'normal citizens'

I support groups like TCO and CAF since they increase activity and keep players in the game when they would probably leave. They need funding. However, I don't believe paying minimal taxes can be equated as robbing the govt and TCO/CAF, making me a person of lower moral standards.

If I were cheating by finding ways around the taxes, that would be of lower moral standing. If I use the system to increase my standing and then use that system to help other citizens improve their game, I would call that playing smart.

@ Takashi That actually means more money in your pocket, because for some reason the only thing going up is the Monetary market. You are paying less the half price for most things per gold value. As for the fake admin money that is true, but the rest isn't...

I think the govt should take the extra VAT money and 'burn' it by investing it in land that will never be use😛 a land-sink.

This would up the value of the CAD and better allow people to purchase strength boosters, which are one of the best means to improve your soldiering ability.
Or, convert CAD earnings/savings to Gold to invest in one of the 3 businesses that will self-fund your own food fights (which do cost you tax in the long run).

VAT can remove excess counterfeit CAD being dumped in by the bots and if used properly, this can increase the value of the CAD. This will reduce the the cost of MPPs and allow citizens to improve their own skills.

Let's create a new stat called Tax. Tax = VAT + Income Tax.

In this game, you can only spend your income or the CAD you buy with gold you bought with RL money. If you are buying gold with RL money, I'm sorry, I don't have sympathy for you and the government is going to get its share of that through VAT.

Before MOO belowed a single MOO, Tax was 16% (1% VAT, 15% income).

Then MOO mooed and it Tax changed to 10% (5% VAT, 5% income).

Then purchase bots arrived and the CAD crashed and Tax changed to 15% (10% VAT, 5% income). At this point, net/net taxation was almost at par with before MOO entering the scene.

VAT works, it was generating more revenue from the government before the latest round of increases. The latest round of increases have put tax at 21% (1% income, 20% VAT). If income tax was changed to 20%, people would have had a conniption fit as well.

Is VAT high? Yes. Taxation is higher now that it ever has been. But what is the plan to pay for MPP's if we don't collect tax? Should we print CAD? The CAD is trading at 0.010, how much profit will the government make when it costs 0.005 to print it?

Fiscal responsibility can be painful and this is the classic example of that. Printing money is no longer a viable option for government. Budgets cuts have occurred so that we can operate within our means. If we can strengthen the CAD, that is the key for citizens to start kicking ass and taking names with their purchases in the market place and money markets.

I own companies and I pay .35 cents a day in taxes AND I buy 30 food a day. (income and VAT).

I agree , this high VAT is not fair and at this rate all eCanadians should be entitled to supplies ..
