The Journal – 2012 Asia & The Oceania Growth Statistics
This is the third article in a four part series recording the active growth statistics of 2012 from around the World. In my previous two articles we looked at a 45% increase in population for the Americas whilst a 20% decline in Europe. I would appreciate as many votes and shouts as you can spare, remaining very grateful for any subscribers. Thank you!
In this article I will be observing the growth rate of active citizens across Asia and the Oceania*. Data collection was carried out by recording the number of votes in each nation’s Presidential elections throughout the year. If you would like a copy of the spread sheet I used containing this data feel free to PM me. Asia with the Oceania recorded loses of 33%, one in three people that were playing in this region have left the game. Out of the 13 countries surveyed only 3 recorded positive growth while the rest declined, the worst case amounting to over 70% of that nation’s population.
Author's Analysis.
2012 was not a kind year to the Far East. The big two; China & Indonesia both lost almost half of their player base! That means almost 1500 active citizens have left those two countries alone. Lesser nations found themselves in similar circumstances, unable to capitalize on the handicap of their regions superpowers, most too declining. Only three countries recorded annual growth which, collectively, totaled at 167 citizens. Asia, like Europe, is in decline.
Below are the growth rates of each nation in Asia and the Oceania, I have divided into into two groups to make the graphs easier to read. The divisions are the top 7 & remaining 6.

Points of note.
• Iran, Australia & New Zealand are the only countries to record annual growth
• Iran recorded the biggest percentage gain with an 45% increase in their population
• Iran also recorded the highest number of citizens gained amounting to 134
Annual Percentage Change.
Australia, New Zealand Bigger size
I hoped you enjoyed this article. In my next and final issue I will be looking at growth statistics of eRepublik.

Hello Fionn - welcome to India - another good article
Thanks everyone & thanks Mal I'm leaving back to Ireland now as was my word with the CP. Appreciate the swiftness of the Indian Congress in granting me citizenship, I had to wait almost a week for the US and even then it wasn't an easy experience.

Great article Fionn... v + s o/
Interesting article. You're talking about Asia, but missed the top population country in Asia.
As above said, this analysis needs to mention about Republic of China(Taiwan),
or it would be an imcomplete one.
Apolagies that was my own error, I will edit this piece along with the graphs on Sunday morning & include Taiwan.
sad
