Conflict Required... Or at least Creative Trolling
Donovan Thomas
Wee old Krakken has been his usually prolific cephalopod self lately and while I confess that I don't always cop to what he's laying down I'll bite today and pass around some squid love.
His recent articles have been helpful and informative (at least for me) and I for one appreciate the fresh turn. One thing that I think he has hit right on the beak (if I'm tracking his jive) is the sad state of Veteran Affairs in eIreland. Far from needing a baby boom, we need to wake up all the sleeping Titans.
But just how do you reinvigorate someone who has been there and done that? Run the country, the military, numerous ministries, etc?
One word in my opinion...
Conflict.
(Don't get me wrong, the recent administrations to include to current regime are in total l33t mode... but)
Conflict, while often avoided, is not necessarily bad. In fact, conflict can be good for organizations because it encourages open-mindedness and helps avoid the tendency toward group think that many organizations fall prey to. The key is learning how to manage conflict effectively so that it can serve as a catalyst, rather than a hindrance, to organizational improvement.
-Conflict Raises Questions
-Conflict Builds Relationships
-Conflict Opens Minds
-Conflicts Beats Stagnation
What kind of conflict am I talking about? There are quite a few examples... debate, discourse, disagreement, war, criticism etc...
Since I have come back from the eDead it seems that many have begun taking themselves pretty damn seriously in this game. I do understand that some weird and real life things have happened to people as a result, but barring the really heavy stuff I think we could all do with some thicker skin. I'm an adult. Bad words don't scare me. Bad words used in conjunction with elegant prose thrill me. Calling someone a cunt for no reason is boring. But using foul language in itself should not be cause for banning or dismissal... we are all from the internet remember? We have ALL seen it all by now... but I digress.
We need opposition... We need disagreement... We need different view points and different solutions... And we need people to put their money where their mouth is and back up their words with actions.
I also think we need war worth fighting. I really enjoy the stability and support that Don and the boys and girls of CrΩmega and Ωmega Eirann have provided to me and to this country... but sometimes stability and stagnation go hand in hand.
eIreland need's a kick in the junk.
So tear me up, friend and foe alike... Comment below. Call me whatever you like... But let's get in the mud and get dirty. It's fun in the mud.
... last note: If anyone knows of a better formatting tool for articles I'd be obliged.

I totally agree with you.
Since I'm new to this community, I would like to share with all of you my experiences and my ideas about this.
I play since 2010 and I come from Italy which is known for its particular community.
The eItalian community is full of discussion and "flame".
Sometimes it's a fruitful flame, sometimes it's just trolling.
I agree with you because if there is a "good" conflict, but I think it's better to call it "exchange of views" or simply "discussion" between all of us, this would feed and enrich all the community.
The conflict, as you said, should not be avoided in order to develop fruitful dialogues between us.
So, I wrote this because I'd like to know better all of you and maybe you can describe me all the shapes of eIreland since I'm new.
Let's talk and let's have a good conflict 😃
Actually this article thing is a plug in that you can download cant remember from what company though but plato basically just copy pasted it in here. Perhaps check for wysiwyg editors with bb codes. The bb codes here is quite common and last few articles is too catch endorsements. 25 I think is needed for the missions or check swooshy. So write more so more money go to us.
Oh jeezuz.... brother, I write for a living now. Literally. Writing here for fun is a bit crass... but I 'spose it can be arranged. I was never much the spammer, but since 'tis a country of the dead and sleeping, who cares right?
it neednt be spamming like this article was good. on most articles i have made about 50 cc so far. in fact by reaching the top you could almost gather 500 in 1 article
"Bad words don't scare me. Bad words used in conjunction with elegant prose thrill me"
Classic DT.
We gonna fly soon.
Good article, we agree too much. See, I agree with this article too = no conflict xdxd
There is limits though I recently had a pedo perma banned but he was really asking for it. actually not using swear words is mostly funnier and play on words for vark steaks or for fark stakes just sounds better. btw i have some in my fridge vark steaks that is also knows as kessler chops.

ok
So...I'll bite
Your buddies...and you should know who I mean...abuse troll and generally make elife unbearable for an awful lot of people here. Many leave before they reach the level of what you call veteran status.
However your cure to the resultant inactivity seems to be you want back victims so the cycle can be repeated?
Did I read that right? If not please correct me.
Because you see those who you now ally with don't want "debate, discourse, disagreement, war, criticism" they want that you either 100% do what they say and agree or you shut up and/or leave.
Those of us providing opposition to the onslaught are belittled, demeaned and generally abused to the point that most leave..
The best thing to achieve what you want is a good old fashioned purge where the uber-trolls (yes I mean Hank, Padraig etc) leave and we can revert to a good discourse with disagreement and actual political campaigns. Unfortunately you can make them go...
We nearly had this when just before Bhane left. The trolls had left but then their buddies let them back in and ruined the place directly forcing out players like Bhane.
I blame them (I call them enablers) for the destruction of the society we had and when we, on the side of progress, tried to point it out we were set upon by those who should of known better. The very people who claimed to want progress without the total abuse defended those who destroyed this place.
It will be a long road back and I haven't given up.. Many of us now work in the shadows trying to improve things. For how long more I cannot say.
Anyway cue the abuse...
correction "Unfortunately you can'T make them go..."
Before you read my response, re-read what you wrote. You are already anticipating being a victim. "Your buddies / I blame them / Cue the abuse" Where is the personal accountability?
I'll cut to the chase. The following is my OPINION. I hear a lot about "opposition" but see no substance. I've seen a lot of people challenge this alleged opposition and basically ask "Where's the beef?" Over and over until they have had enough of double talk and tears and say "Feck off kunt!" and stop entertaining empty suits. I'll say what I've always said... prove the other guy wrong with well though out arguments, logic and evidence. Bring some socratic method to the argument. That's what I'm looking for. All of us standing around saying please and thank you and everyone get's a t-shirt makes for one boring game based around politics and war. Click, click smile and log off... meh.
you arrived a few months too late.
We have all, on the "opposition side" given up for about six months now.
That is why activity has died off. It was the culmination of the direction driven by the trolls and supported by those you now align with.
I am not anticipating being a victim...I and many other were victims. Only difference between many and myself is I am still here and bothered to try explain it to you. How many other replies did you get?
Of course you are not to blame for not knowing...you were not here!

Can't get it to load, appreciate it anyway, thanks.
works fine for me
Like I did in Krakken's article
I'm Irish but I don't like tea or Guinness, now tell me how bad and un-Irish I am...
