Conflict Required... Or at least Creative Trolling

A brief return of the Old Whine

The opinions in this article are not sanctioned by Omega Eierann and are entirely the ramblings of the author and his pain pills

Wee old Krakken has been his usually prolific cephalopod self lately and while I confess that I don't always cop to what he's laying down I'll bite today and pass around some squid love.

His recent articles have been helpful and informative (at least for me) and I for one appreciate the fresh turn. One thing that I think he has hit right on the beak (if I'm tracking his jive) is the sad state of Veteran Affairs in eIreland. Far from needing a baby boom, we need to wake up all the sleeping Titans.

But just how do you reinvigorate someone who has been there and done that? Run the country, the military, numerous ministries, etc?

One word in my opinion...

Conflict.

(Don't get me wrong, the recent administrations to include to current regime are in total l33t mode... but)

Blatant Plagiarism Below

Conflict, while often avoided, is not necessarily bad. In fact, conflict can be good for organizations because it encourages open-mindedness and helps avoid the tendency toward group think that many organizations fall prey to. The key is learning how to manage conflict effectively so that it can serve as a catalyst, rather than a hindrance, to organizational improvement.

-Conflict Encourages New Thinking
-Conflict Raises Questions
-Conflict Builds Relationships
-Conflict Opens Minds
-Conflicts Beats Stagnation

What kind of conflict am I talking about? There are quite a few examples... debate, discourse, disagreement, war, criticism etc...

Since I have come back from the eDead it seems that many have begun taking themselves pretty damn seriously in this game. I do understand that some weird and real life things have happened to people as a result, but barring the really heavy stuff I think we could all do with some thicker skin. I'm an adult. Bad words don't scare me. Bad words used in conjunction with elegant prose thrill me. Calling someone a cunt for no reason is boring. But using foul language in itself should not be cause for banning or dismissal... we are all from the internet remember? We have ALL seen it all by now... but I digress.

We need opposition... We need disagreement... We need different view points and different solutions... And we need people to put their money where their mouth is and back up their words with actions.

I also think we need war worth fighting. I really enjoy the stability and support that Don and the boys and girls of CrΩmega and Ωmega Eirann have provided to me and to this country... but sometimes stability and stagnation go hand in hand.

eIreland need's a kick in the junk.

So tear me up, friend and foe alike... Comment below. Call me whatever you like... But let's get in the mud and get dirty. It's fun in the mud.

One more shout out for Squid Nuggets
