Since the last 3 major battles covered in this newspaper, 'The Peoples Gazette™' not a lot has happened. Peoples attention is turning to V2 and Beta testing, hoarding cash for the big change and congressional elections. That doesn't mean to say that we shan't see any battles. It would be good if something interested happens, otherwise I'd just have to attack someone to make things more interesting.

Cabinet Updates.

So far I have been pleased with this months cabinet, if I were to run a second month then I wouldn't consider changing many of them. The ministry of foreign affairs is doing well, having (re)reintroduced ambassadors and having set up a world cup IRC channel (#eWorldCup) which is visited daily by many football fans. With England playing a crucial match against Slovenia tonight, I expect to see many eUK'ers there.

Other ministries of note are the MoHA and the MoF. The MoHA has become one of our most vital ministries, doing regular PM sweeps to make sure the citizens in our country know whats what. They also manage various entertainment schemes so that when erep is giving us a buzz we can find enjoyment on the forums. The MoF is often under appreciatted, but is a vital part of the eUK. Maintaining our money markets, managing payments debts and income, (and my compensation claims) without a MoF we wouldn't have much cash to play around with.

There have been 2 changes to cabinet this week; Altaiair has had to step down as MoEmployment due to real life, and I've asked Lap12345 to take his place, which as he's done the job before he is getting on with swimmingly. The CGS of our military also resigned, and command staff will decide a replacement for him soon. Both will be missed and we thank them for their hard work so far.

Beta Testing.

As you can read here; This thursday the Beta survers will open for everyone to test V2. It also says that V2 isn't called V2 anymore but is called 'eRepublik rising'. If you ask me the admins need a new marketing manager, but thats what happens when you run your offices from Spain.

Either way, despite an attempted rebranding to something naff by the admins, I'm sure I'm not alone in the fact that I will keep calling it V2, out of habit if nothing else. The open beta testing means anyone can take part in the testing. Each and every one of you will be able to dive in and try out the new modules (expect server lag) and more importantly the PvP fighting.

The open beta will run for at least a week, but with all the bugs people are likely to find they may leave it open longer. However it does signify that V2 (hannibal rising) will arrive some time soon. People have already been planning for this but so far economic and domestic implications haven't been thoroughly considered outside of the relevant ministries.

Public involvement and Think Tanks.

Everyone in the eUK will have access to a series of think tanks in the public discussion area of the forums. Our ministries will monitor these threads and consider all good points that are raised. This also a good way to instigate conversation and introduce people to the forums. V2 is common ground for everyone and so discussing your feelings and opinions on it are something everyone can do.

An economic think tank, a domestic think tank and a discussion thread will be used, and I hope that everyone will start posting on them. The threads will be combed over in a few days time and any good ideas will be used (stolen). Input from people from all corners of the eUK is valuable, so don't be worried about voicing your opinion once you get access.

Thanks,
