I fear you underestimated this game's probably most important main pillar;
the nationalism.

This game's idea borned in Middle-Europe, Romania. What do you think; why named this countries in original IRL base names? Why don't finded some fictional names for countries with fictional borders?
The answers is simple, our nations have many so called "unfinished businness" based out RL history. This unburdened conflicts moving the player's community for spend money and the money moving the servers.

The Poland-Germany, the Hungary-Romania oppositions maybe the strongest opportunities for replay again these conflicts.

Sure I know not every players fit this category well, but I think our countries seen anothes sides of this game. You seen a social based game, like sim-city, you have idalistic, platonian visions about eRepublik's future. Roleplaying, interactions with another peoples and so on.

We'll see a militaristic based, country against country, alliances against alliances warfare game in eRepublik where is can win against another country and can able to lost everything our country's integrity. You so called us "imperialist" nation.

The game mainly support this viewing of game, the social, economical modules very-very simple and dumb part of this game. The war good for everything in here, boost the economy, keep up our health and the most important:
Can call newbies, and can keep here the old players, who can upkeep the whole Game.

eHungary and eRomania seen and realized that, and share the opinion: the way of surviving in the nationalist war between us. The adverts, callings, invitations most important part any times: "Come in, you can conquer/defend our country against Romania/Hungary" Are you seen the Poland's motivation posters? They are don't recruit whit a slogan: "Are you see, we have wonderful political module, meet many new international friends, etc."

The slogen is simple "We can conquer Germany, we can take revenge" eHungary's huge success with baby-boom was same simple: "Romanian almost conquered us, just two small part left, join us, defend our land!"

And after thousands joined us they are don't leave the game after we reconquer eHungary, we want to build a Empire, like Romania did it few months ago too, and Poland did it now and we'll hope eSerbia too.
And if the game can be survive, few months later probably some another country repeat the baby boom again, and raise her Empire in the ashes of EDEN/ePoland/eUSA/Phoenix or whatewer.

This game, the engine of game is the imperialism. The programmers planned this. This is not a mistake, it's attribute, feature of eRepublik. You can accept it and try to play well or you "lose" the game. So simple, eat, or another powers eating you.

This approach of our and your viewpoints is one main gap between us.

Nobody can keep her independence, spend time with tamagochi in long range. The only one chance, if you don't have any valueable resources and irl opponent. Everybody who don't want a be a part some supercoalitions, be a toy in stronger's hand. This happening with eFrance now after you choosed another way.

We don't have too much illusions, we know, what is a predictable future of eHungary: the falling. Now or sooner this is a question, if we can recruit new peoples and new friends we'll fight and we can survive, if we can't, we can able to stop the Game and leave eRepublik.

I think eFrace become only is another chapter of the book of failures if you don't want to play eRepublik well.

The internet is full of another web-based games maybe we'll sail away if we are lose.
