Greetings and Salutations, My Fellow Americans and Ajay Gipper Hut:

With about 800 votes cast in today's election, The Vox Populi has declared dmjohnston winner and the new Country President of the USA. I want to be one of the first to congratulate DMJ and wish him success in his coming term.

This article could easily be title Largo Defeats Largo - DMJ becomes CP. Oddly enough, these results probably would have not been the same just two days ago. At the time, the Largo campaign was confident of winning this election and so were some people in the DMJ campaign. In fact, more than one campaigner for DMJ stated they were concerned that DMJ would lose. It seemed like Largo had it locked up, but then this happened.

In what has been called by many a blatant act of vote-buying, Largo offered an incentive for voters who voted for him in the first hour of voting.
I am offering 10 Q7 tanks to every citizen who comments in this article that they voted for me in the first hour of voting. You comments are time stamped, so vote for John Largo in the first hour and then comment this article that you did so within that first hour.
The move prompted a tidal wave of backlash, including an counter-offer by Pfluffer, a thread in the USA Forums, and a call for a Congressional Censure of John Largo, currently a sitting Congressman from AMP. Largo has only stated that an article will be forthcoming. People in the know have assured me that Largo is not buying votes. I have heard bits and pieces of information from a few different sources and have determined that Largo is simply guilty of listening to a conspiracy theory that could neither be proved or disproved using this method. In addition, I want to clearly state that game admins don't care about the outcome of elections; they only want you to spend your money. This was a bad move by Largo.

In the end, a mistake cost Largo not only his best chance to be Country President but has hurt his credibility and may cause him to be censured in Congress. This shows the importance of running a Presidential campaign with a trusted campaign advisor and staff and screams the importance of listening to those people. I will say plainly that I am against the call to censure Congressman Largo, since it is not Congress's duty to police Presidential candidates, but that is a different article.

And on that note... I'm out!
