Greece vs Turkey – a chronicle

late 2008 eGreece and eTurkey are in the same alliance but still Turkey decides to attack Greece in order to gain the high iron region. Turkey keeps the region for a long period of time that gives her an economic boost while Greece tries to form a resistance. After a long term captivity Greece with the help of Croatia, USA, Romania fights a war of independence that ended in the summer of 2009 with all Greece libarated.*

Dec 2009 – Jan 2010 . On December of 2009 EDEN is marching onto a major attack on the opposite alliance, peace (Phoenix). Greece attacks Turkey for the first time and activates all the mpps of Turkey. In the meantime Greece takes over the northern part of Israel making a protection shield between the two countries, turkey and Israel, and therefore ending a war between those rivals that had started due to a real life insident. Turkey occupies Greek territories for a short while in a war that its methods are questioned! And the answer comes when the admins ban some major Turkish tanks and deny access to Turkish ips due to DDOS attack that were comming from Turkey . Along with the rest banned players so is the Turkish president who is banned for multis! The Turks are voting for impeachment with negative outcome which leaves the country with the same banned guy for the week to come! Without the president that has access to the country’s button of attack, turkey is at the full mercy of Greece! having in mind both of the opponent’s problems Greece decides to seize fire till the problem is solved and gains the respect of both the alliances!

Feb 2010 – April 2010. Greece and turkey are engaging into war that leaves Greece victorious at all times but the occupied territories due to game mechanics are not kept for long. With the first wrong move, Greece is losing initiative and the war shifts direction. Greece manages to defend its boarders but unfortunately looses the shield territory of Israel.

The summer of 2010 ‘erepublik rising’ leaves us with a necessary peace. The countries need to reorganize and adjust to the new modules that had created a chaos in the economy. On August of 2010 the Turkish president asks from Greece to attack so that the economy gets boosted and the people find more interest through war! I guess he had a secret agenda on the back of his head and we saw it on the months that followed. The Greek president does not take the bate and peace continues..

Oct 2010. Greece attacks Turkey and Turkey gets erased from the map for the 1st time!
The Turks finally manage to give to their biggest newspaper an article about the game and therefore make a baby boom that brought 20.000 new players! Unfortunately not all were real so in the days that followed this baby boom was more of a headache for the admins. Fake damage in battles and fake gold was introduced to the game that made Turkey from a country that was not able to support her new citizens to one of the most wealthy in erepublik. As an outcome of multiple accounts and illegal transactions the admins delete 5000 gold from the bank of Turkey.

In the meantime one of the new countries that are introduced is Cyprus. Many Greeks and Greek-Cypriots are going to the island that has an open citizenship due to the old game mechanics! In Turkey the people are asking if there is any Turkish Cypriot in game and they find none! Nevertheless and since their country is occupied, they decide to go to Cyprus and try their luck with the presidency elections that was due to come on the closing of the first month of the introduction of the new country. A media war starts in Cyprus with the Turks accusing the Greeks of xenophobia, aiming that way to take on their side the foreigners of the island! Steoks from the Turkish side runs for the presidency and his main opponent is the Greek-Cypriot Iaswn. Turkey that was infected with multis used them to gain advantage and so on the election day the admins delete more than 100 votes from the Turkish candidate. Iaswn is elected president but steoks that is a parliament member proposes a donation of 100.000 cyp to an organization of Turkey. The proposal is rejected! Turkey attacks Cyprus straight after the admin shifts its main source of income-grain-to the northern part of the island and occupies it!

In the month that followed we saw Turkish citizens getting banned and unbanned. The admins decided to change the laws of the game and from then on they didn’t give a permanent ban to the ones that had the multis but only deleted those and took the fake gold from the person’s account. The people of erepublik were asking for justice but that was in vain and so, many high ranked Turkish citizens were banned, but only for a few days! Nevertheless the admins go through on deleting the fake accounts to something that can be easily described as ‘multi massacre’ as in only one day almost 4000 fake accounts of Turkey are erased!

Dec 2010 and while the natural enemy module is introduced, Turkey decides to attack Greece, an act that their 2 months old baby-president saw as revenge to the total capitulation of his country in October! But the war has not a positive outcome for Turkey that looses Cyprus. Turkey still receives negative press about the cheats and that bad mood is reflected also to the president that most of the Turkish society labels as inadequate so he and his group is fleeing to USA as soon as his presidency is over. At the media they condemn cheating and declare that they leave Turkey because there are too many frauds there!


Jan 2011 or so.. and while the war between the 2 countries is continuing the Turks find a new bug that allows them to work more than one time a day and therefore helps them to create lots of weapons and food but also gold that was not permitted by the game mechanics! The admin discovering the cheat, temporarily bans the ones that did it but later decides to let them free with decreased strength by 25%. Among those cheaters was the president of eTurkey.

In the press and in the forum, Turkey is continuing to be considered as a non credible country and one that is using unlawful methods to gain its goals! The Turks as an attempt to clean this bad reputation start to boycott the game. The excuse that they use is a script and they blame the Bulgarians for using it against them. The truth is that many Greeks witnessed that script being used by Turks in the battles between them! The Greeks that had enough from all these cheating of the past consider the boycott as a another game of the Turks and continue to fight! The natural enemy stays the same and even if the Greeks would stop fighting the battles would still be opening! While the boycott continues a secret agenda is revealed by the American president! A plan that takes USA through Turkey to Europe! The boycott is therefore secretly used by the Turkish high ranked players to bring forward this plan, a plan that brings them closer to PANAM but also betrays their previous allies, Serbia, Iran and FYROM.
The plan gets cancelled after Bulgaria and Greece disagree..Turkey gets totally occupied!

Feb 2011 while turkey enters the new alliance of PANAM Greece and Turkey that were so much longing for peace finally reach an agreement that is signed by both countries and the leaders of their alliances! Most of the Turkish citizens disagree because of the gold that is to be given as compensation to Greece. But the plan is set and the first occupied area of Turkey is freed without any resistance from Greece. With the new territory, Turkey has a substance again and therefore the mechanics of the country change and along with them so does the president. Alipoyraz that had signed the agreement is no longer the one in office and the new one decides to cancel on the agreement because of the general dislike on the plan itself! The Turkish press speaks of dishonorable battles of the Greeks against their boycott but they forget to mention that while they were boycotting their main slogan was that they want justice even if they loose their country!

Today Turkey is totally occupied once more! This is the 3rd time that happens and the longest in eHistory!
