Day 3,726, 04:29 Published in Romania Romania by Raul Doru

Hello dear readers!

As you all know, we've had an interesting end of 2017 and a quite active beginning of 2018. In the following, I just want to present you an update of the military situation in eWorl😛

ROMANIA vs GREECE

The conflict started as part of the large scale riposte of Asteria against the aggression of (ex)Syndicate countries against Bulgaria. In few words, after erasing the Greece core regions, Romania tried to do the same with Greek colonies. During the war there were some great battles, with a huge amount of damage and CO spent and with the heavy involvement of the two countries allies. But Romania's plan to erase the Greek colonies was stopped by the intervention of Hungary, who managed to create a shield of neutral territories in front of Romanian attacks. Then, together with Greece, Hungary managed to expell Republic of Macedonia and Spain from their colonies in Middle East and Asia, taking into consideration that those countries supported the Romanian offensive in the region.
Few days later, maybe because of their new policy of "neutrality", Greece made a big mistake, releasing the region of Assir and so allowing Romania to counterattack. It is now only a matter of time until Greece will be fully deleted.
For that, we have to thank all of our allies and friends that helped us during this campaign!

BULGARIA - TURKEY NAP

After quite of ping-pong in winning-loosing in Turkey vs Bulgaria war, the two sides decided it's time to stop the hostilities between them for a period of minimum 2 months (if I correctly understood from their NAP agreement).
Details here https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-bg-mofa-nap-between-bulgaria-and-turkey-2662269/1/20
and here https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-cp-tr-nap-between-turkey-and-bulgaria-2662271/1/20
Well, signing of the NAP raised some problems. First, an internal debate in Bulgaria, some players being unhappy with the context of the agreement, signed in a moment when Turkey was in offensive in Bulgarian core and the treaty seemed like a surrender of Bulgarians. I won't comment on the subject, being an internal affair of an allied country.
Second, the Turkish-Bulgarian NAP provoked a (for many) strange reaction of the Greek Government. Following the above mentioned agreement, Greece declared its "neutrality" in the military campaigns, blaming Turkey that they didn't include them (and maybe Republic of Macedonia) in the NAP. From their point of view, Turkey let an open way for Bulgaria and Republic of Macedonia to attack Greece. From a realistic point of view, it is true that Bulgaria was now free to concentrate in other campaigns (as they immediately did), but taking into consideration that the NAP was signed for 2 months and also that Greece is anyway under Romania's full attacks, it is almost impossible for the fears of the Greek Government to became real.
It is also interesting to read the response of Turkey to the accusations of Greece.
But even more, the "neutrality" of Greece seems to have upset some of its allies, who spent a lot of resources in its help (especially Colin's money, but not only) and they'll get no support in return...
All in all, the proclaimed "neutrality" of Greece has became a subject of trolling and jokes not only for their enemies but also for allies and even Greek players...

LE: Greece just started its "neutral" campaign! 😁

SERBIA

I'll be short regarding Serbia, because they do what they know best: fight!
That's way we don't have to be surprised that they keep under occupation 3 powerful countries like Croatia, Chile and Argentina (I'm sorry I can not find it now, but few days ago I read an article in Argentinian media where some of them accused Colin for their situation - thanks DonPijote for the link!)... 🙂

HUNGARY

During last months, Hungary adopted a clear anti-Asteria position, heavily involving itself in the wars, especially on Greece and Turkey's side. Even more, they manage to stop Romania's advance against Greek colonies in Middle East and then, along with Greece, to get Republic of Macedonia and Spain out of their colonies in the region. Clearly, that attitude needed an answer and so Lithuania (Asteria member state), Bulgaria (free from its war with Turkey and wanting revenge for Hungarian involvement against it) and Republic of Macedonia (for payback time) declared war on Hungary targeting its colonies in Asia and Middle East, with Huns losing on all fronts. Even more, Lithuania is decide to continue the offensive, after successful AS proposing now a NE law against Hungary.
On the other hand, the attacks against Hungary showed also the non-functionality of Pacifica alliance, one of its biggest members, USA, taking quite an interesting decision: to AS Croatia...

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

For a very looong period, USA have maintained a successful position of neutrality in the world wars. Some say (and could be true) that through farming, US manage to accumulate a huge amount of money in its treasury. Also, in international relations, USA kept a neutral position, with a slightly favorable attitude toward Syndicate alliance, mainly because of its animosity with Serbia.
Feeling its position threatened by the "neutrality" of Greece (😃), USA decided for an unexpected move: declaring an AS against Croatia (former Syndicate member). Until now, I didn't manage to find any official position about the reasons of this war, but it sure provoked a lot of comments from the players. Most of them doesn't make any sense, covering a large range of speculations, from the fact that the aggressive-neutral Greek player N4zGuL got US citizenship (and why to attack Croatia, an old friend of Greece) to the fact that the main target of the offensive is in fact Serbia (than why not an direct attack) or rumors about creation of a future Serbian-Croatian alliance/pact (really?!?!).
It will be interesting to see how this conflict will evolve. It's not impossible to see some Serbian players (and not only, from Asteria's and friends side) fighting for Croatia, just to avoid the presence of USA in the region. As for the reasons of the US attack against Croatia, I will try later to have (if he accepts) a short interview with Wild Owl, current US Minister of Defense.

Overall, we can draw some conclusions of the beginning of 2018:
- Asteria and friends showed their superior power;
- Bulgaria, Republic of Macedonia and Spain proved that they are strong and reliable allies (ring a bell, Chile?);
- Syndicate ceased to exist, not only as an alliance, but also on the map;
- Pacifica is not functioning like an alliance at all;
- Hungary played it's cards and now is facing the consequences (as usual in the last years);
- after vacation, Greece became neutral (sorry, I could not help myself);
- Argentina, please keep blaming Colin! (LOL)
- and... USA... maybe an active neutrality?! or maybe not...

LE: Well, USA's AirStrike against Croatia failed and now Croatian are filling up their own AS. If they will launch it, US will face hard times (a lot of players will fight on Croatian side).
