Twas the night before elections and all through eRepublik every candidate was shouting hoping to get their word out. Their platforms were written with great detail and care, in hopes to get votes that will get them there.

The two-clickers where spending time with their family and friends, while visions of real life danced in their heads. And my wife was irate and I was about to get slapped. Had I just listened and spent some time with the kids to get them ready for their nap.

When from my laptop speakers there arouse such a clatter. I sprang to my keyboard to see what was the matter. I opened my IRC window before my operating system would crash. Tore open each Chatzilla session till I found out who pinged me was just being brash.

While in-forum Pfeiffer avatar was showing everything but its breasts, a new player had posted just to say hello. Everyone was replying so the player felt welcomed and at home. When, to my surprise Soren Nelson had banned Pfeiffer in fear. He was about to delete his account and wish everyone a happy free new year.

With time running out and Election Day being next day, I still had not written my final article; I was stumped and dismayed. To the top of the paragraph! To the top of it all! All my hope of being elected was about to dash away. Dash away in a stall!

As a prom dress on prom night, I needed the ideas to fly. I need to get past all the writer block obstacles and give it a try. So I begin to start typing and the words began to flow. And before I knew it, I was half way done with a little more to go.

I still needed to touch on the issues: taxes, transparency, military funding, and new player retention. And then it all came to me with a way to get everyone’s attention. It was simple and sweet. Make something easy to read and try not to repeat.

Taxes are geared too much for tanking older players in battles. And not enough is done for newer players in general. The economy, while getting better, so has room for improvement. And thanks to the admins communicating to new player was hard expect through a Military Units.

More needs to be done to support parties and the military that will support new player education. And current reliance on the EC should take less often with their authority in reduction. Tax modeling and more detailed account of spending should become the norm. And those who do not wish to comply should be warned.

New ideas, in addition to that are already in place, need to be geared to newer players instead. Old fashion land gifts with loans to grow resources and get them ahead. Along with mandatory education prior to each loan, should make them productive citizens that can survive on their own.

Finally, granting additional funds to those organizational units that place emphasis on educating new players that succeed. This will create many new leaders and a needed baby boom indeed. Many will scoff, say it can not be done, and brush it away. But unless things change it will just be more of the same.

These are just a few ideas I would like to propose. It is time for change in the government that everyone knows. I will exclaim before this article is taken out of sight. “Merry Christmas to all and vote for Talio Extremist in MN Christmas night”!
