There is currently a sale running, allowing citizens to purchase Training Ground upgrades for 45% off. All new citizens should be taking advantage of these sales, and your Ministry of Education, Information and Social Welfare is here to help!
Why Should I Upgrade My Training Grounds?
Whether you want to be a muscle-bound beefcake or an ultimate warrior, you need to do your strength training.
When you ask them for advice, one of the first things the old-timers tell you is that you should upgrade your Training Grounds as soon as possible. There are several reasons for this:
1) Having high Strength allows you to deal more damage in battles. The more damage you can contribute to a battle, the more likely we are to win that battle. You're also more likely to win Battle Hero medals, and when your Strength is high enough, you can do more damage with your everyday Quality 7 weapons than you can with a bazooka.
2) Some of the best MUs have very high Strength requirements.
3) Every 250 Strength points you earn through training gives you the Super Soldier medal, plus 5 gold. With the first two training grounds fully upgraded, it takes just over 8 days to earn each Super Soldier medal/5 gold. This turns your regular daily training regimen into a gold-generating industry, even when you spend a tiny bit of gold every day on the Climbing Center.
How Can The Ministry Help Me Buy Upgrades?
Apply via PM to Xander Kross, or you may elect to contact any of the benefactors listed in the TG Upgrade Donors list below.
Applicants will be granted an interest-free loan of 10 gold to be put towards the purchase of training ground upgrades. The 10 gold loan - which is to be paid back at the discretion of the donor - is intended to get you started. Some of the upgrades cost much more than that, and this a "leg up" loan to help out.
Due to budgetary constraints, it may not be possible to fund every request, so loan approval will be on a case-by-case basis.

This is an awesome initiative!
It might be better to raise it up to 30 gold and even allow only 50% paid back. Especially if this is for newer players.
I agree that this idea has room for growth. However, since we are doing this "grassroots" style, player to player, we're going to have to stick with a 10 gold limit. My plan next month is to run a gold drive, donate that gold to the government and then move it to the MoE org via Congressional vote. Then we should be able to bypass the personal donation limit. Until then, we're sticking with 10g/person.
The 10 gold limit is not for donating gold but accepting a donation (or buying gold off the MM). You could make three 10 gold donations right away or send over the equivalent of 10 gold in cc, if you don't feel like spreading out the payments but it'll still take 3 days for the recipient to actually have the 30 gold.
Yes, the limit applies to personal donations. I believe it works differently if the money is sent from a government org, but since our org has no gold with which to test that theory, we're doing it this way for now.
