The Federalist Press [day 2242]

Day 2,242, 15:54 Published in USA USA by Trekker Tlumac

Holy carpal tunnel syndrome Batman! Good news everyone! Erm… Yeah. I got nothing, so much for coming out with a bang. Well anyways, greetings Feds and friends. In case you could not guess, it is Trekker Tlumac coming to you again with another issue of The Federalist Press. I hope this week finds you well. If this week does not find you well, I hope it finds you anyway. Well down to business I suppose.

State of the Fed

1) Well Party Presidential Elections are coming right up and the nomination boards have just come down. There are three candidates nominated for PP this month. They are Blondeninja, Tyler Bubblar, and Green12 have all been nominated for the PP office. As of right now, only Blondeninja and Tyler Bubblar have accepted the nominations. Polling will commence soon for a vote on who the next Party President should be.

Nominations:

Per the norm, there is a Question thread and the accepted candidates each have their own answer thread. Ask questions and read up on the answers. Get to know who is running for your vote.

2)  Are you hungry? Are you in need of big guns? Well the No Fed Left Behind program will give you food and tanks. I recently sat down with the man in charge of dispersing the requests through the NFLB, dk3dknight. Since the inception of the program in the latter half of October 2013 the program has fulfilled nearly 900 requests. If you are a Fed and are hungry or need protection, the name of the program says it all.

3) IndexInfinity has taken over the post of FedEx Director. AlexJ 1890 stepped down from the post recently and MelissaRose had been running FedEx during the intermediate time between that resignation and IndexInfinity taking over the post. The transition is expected to go smoothly. Congrats to IndexInifinity on the new job.

State of the Country

1) Country Presidential Elections were a few days ago. WildOwl won with a resounding 76%. WildOwl has since been busy getting into the stride of being a CP, his administration let no time pass before getting in touch with the people via press releases. WildOwl’s “Day One” article briefly speaks about the planned agenda for the term. Such things as maintaining the stability of our foreign affairs and reinvigorating domestic programs are touched upon.
Additionally stated was that media will be important tool in this term. The president plans to address the people directly with regularity and to increase circulation of the WHPR.

Of which, the first of the WHPRs has already hit circulation. It further expands upon the domestic and foreign affairs that are the goals of this term. Also included in the press release is an interview with Mazzy_Cat (current VP of eUSA)

Links to both articles are below, the presidential address first and the WHPR following.

2) WildOwl replaces NewAzazel as country president, the latter served two terms. The latter also did not seek a third term and wrote a farewell address to the public, that can be viewed below. In it NewAzazel ruminates over the two terms, discussing what legacy will hopefully be left behind, and later uses the help of a RL founding father’ words to strike eerily accurate connotations from RL to eLife carry over.

3) This week MPPs have been reached with eFinland and eMexico. At the time of press there was a vote underway for an MPP with eParaguay. An amended New Citizen message was also voted on and approved.

State of my Gold

dk3dknight was the winner of my gold last week. He was the only entrant to list an New Year Resolution and therefore won by default. Congrats dk3d.
This week I am curious about gas prices. What is the price of a gallon of gas in your area? Or liter? (if you happen to be in an area that sells by the liter instead) Comment the price of gas in your area and be entered to win a piece of gold. More entrants means more gold given away. Anyone can enter, regardless of who you are. Winner will be chosen via a numbering system and a random number generator. Winner announced publicly next week, payout will be given before then. Thank you for playing.

State of my Mind

Well now that the temperatures are starting to rise (made it all the way to 15 degrees today) I am getting out and trying to catch up on back log of missed family time.

Took a cousin of mine to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and I am glad I did. Not only was the popcorn cheap (apparently it always is on Tuesdays. Who knew?) but the movie was actually pretty good. I mean, sure it was fairly generic plot line. Especially if you have ever read anything at all about story progression, the Hero’s Journey, and all that jazz. The execution of the Hero’s Journey, however, was excellent. Just enough tension, the cinematics were excellent, the progression of Walter Mitty from who he was to who he would be was reasonably well spaced, and the soundtrack served to heighten these effects well.

But more importantly it re-instilled a sense of wanderlust within my core. And that, above all else, made it a movie worth seeing. It made me think about all the wonder there is to be had, even in everyday places. I am probably overselling it to the average person, so do not go see it just because of my words. To me though, it was that important.

I believed a long time ago that everyone needs at least one grand adventure in their life. It is a childish ideal that age, poverty and a lifetime of being told I was wrong had knocked out of me. It is back and I want more than ever to see the places I dreamed of. I am already running over mental itineraries of journeys yet to be had.

What’s wrong with a little wonder in the world?

State of Education

Education is key in anything that is done in life (or eLife). Education does not necessarily mean school, it means learning. There is a lot of chaos going on in this game to someone new or who is simply not too involved. It is the duty of every eAmerican to extend out the olive branch as kindly as possible to help anyone that may need help. We are a country of brotherhood, let us show it. One such kindness is helping everyone learn, but not to force it upon them.  As such the editor is constantly on the lookout for more information to share with people.

It so happens, the eUSA does have a fine education department and they have released a new article about getting started in the game. This article is geared directly to new players during the first few days/weeks of their eLife. It would still be a recommended read to anyone, as seasoned players can learn something of compassion and temperance by imagining what it must be like to be new again and not know all the things that many take for granted. That article is below.

http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-doe-guide-to-erepublik-first-days1-2360677/1/20

Also included is recent Pony Express article about a recommended reading list for citizens. There are a lot of helpful links to a lot of places, this includes government programs, public and private MUs.

Well that is all for this week. Take care and may you find that your best days are ahead of you.

-Trekker Tlumac

Now a moment to reflect.

Never stop learning. Mistakes are inevitable. Learning from those mistakes are the lessons we all need.

I try to be such a person that people want to listen to. And on the general, people seem to listen to me. I also try to listen. In listening I can learn more than when I am speaking.

Shamless music plug here. But really, music is a wonderful thing for expanding your mind. Unless of course it is a song written by 15 people, has a one word hook that repeats through out 60% of the song, and is sung by Justin Bieber. That might actually make you less smart... Just saying. (Now I must go listen to that stupid song several times because it is so damn catchy)
