National Media Strategy
As promised the NGP proposed our version of the a National Media Strategy to the Congress for debate and discussion. The following was what was submitted by one of our Congress Members, Red Beard the Scotsman.

Aim: Offer Government support to citizens wishing to get involved in Norwegian media and to encourage a more active Norwegian media landscape.

Article 1: The Norwegian Government will offer a subsidy of 2 gold for new players wishing to start a newspaper.

Article 2: The subsidy will be issued when the requesting citizen has contributed 5 quality articles to the Norwegian Media."

However after discussing it with the Congress we found a few ways we were able to improve the entire program. Thank you everyone who participated! This is what the official proposal now looks like that is currently going through the voting process.

Article 1: The Norwegian Government will offer a subsidy of 2 gold for new players wishing to start a newspaper.

Article 2: The subsidy will be issued when the requesting citizen has contributed 5 quality articles to the Norwegian Media.

Article 3: The citizen requesting the subsidy must have founded their paper after the National Media Strategy was implemented.

Article 4: No more than two articles may be released per week that count towards collecting the subsidy.

So as you can see Congress came together to improve the original proposal. Now why did we think that a media strategy needed to be implemented in the first place? Well the National Survey the NGP put forth to the nation had a question that looked like the following...

4. Would you like to see an increase in the amount of Norwegian media and would you support a national media strategy to help increase our media?

75% of respondents voted in favour of such a program. Now there are other reasons of course why we believe such a program is beneficial to all of Norway.



Low Cost- Its is only a subsidy of 2gold, hardly anything. We do not exactly see a ton of new babies which means we are not going to be spending a ton on this program.

More Diverse Media- Lot's of the answers on the survey said that they were sick of only seeing Government type of articles in our media and would like to see more "fun" articles such as interviews and other events. This will help take us in that direction.

Opportunity for Young Norwegians- It was argued in one Congress Members vote (who voted against the program) that this will do nothing to add anything else to the game. But what about those Norwegian who do not use the forums or IRC? That means the best places for them to interact with the rest of our community comes from MU/Party feeds and of course the articles that people write! Why would we want less articles which will in turn lead to less community activity? So far the vote is passing and It will so that we can increase our community activity and offer our young citizens another reason to stay in Norway.


Party President Elections
Currently we are about to vote on the new Party President. We have two candidates once again this month, please don't forget to vote!

As you can see I will not be running for re-eection at this time. As I told Delirium during the Presidential elections after this month I will be taking more time away from eRepublik so its best for me not to run for Party President as we need someone as active as possible and that person cannot be me pretty soon (I got promoted at work so more hours!) Thank you for everyone who has helped make the NGP such a success these last few months and for trusting in me to guide it this far, it has been a pleasure to serve you as well as give a lot of newer faces a chance in our political arena, I hope our new PP will keep up articles and continue to grow our party.

Presidential Elections
I never had or took the (official) opportunity to thank everyone for their generous support for me during the Presidential elections. It was an extremely close race and I was truly surprised. I told Delirium and others that he would most likely win but to see it come that close was really something else. I was guessing it would end up around 45-25 in Deliriums favour so seeing that really means a lot. So thank you to everyone who voted and supported me through out my campaign!
