By now, most of you have seen the War against Ireland, and the open battle in the Shannon. I applaud those who spent the morning running around like chickens, spending time creating a stir. I'd be willing to bet it's the most fun you've had on Erepublik if this is the first time you've been involved in a direct war.

Oh, wait. This is Ireland we're talking about. This was the first time anyone ever invaded you, even if it was pretend.

So you got to have some fun. If anyone would have told you "Hey, this is a Training War", it wouldnt have been fun. You wouldnt have spent the loads of time you probably spent on preparing and organising. It was a fantastic way to test your readiness and preparedness, especially since it's the first time, End of. You can cry and scream "mis-communication" all you want, but fact is that this was negotiated with the people who needed to know.

Even our own Elite Units weren't told it was a training war, and we were preparing to invade you. This was a test, and nothing more than a test, so calm down. The United Kingdom and Ireland are working together, which is nice to see, in a way that isn't going to make either of us "enemies" to either Alliance or each other.

In short, we're doing things for a change, rather than just talking about them. Isn't that what all of you wanted? Rather than running around complaining about the 5 Gold you just spent, learn where your deficiences are, as we all have them, and improve. That's what these things allow us.

To those who are fighting, enjoy yourselves. The battle will last until 1200 Erepublik time tomorrow. Make sure you're up on how to fight smart so you don't destroy your wellness. Read the Ministry of Defence Newspaper for orders.
