ECONOMY
While this may seem like another article concerning the crisis of our economy, I like to think it is different. I am not simply complaining about the high cost of food currently on the market. Instead I am asking Irish business owners to come together.
In a recent article in another newspaper it was suggested that some companies were offering higher wages in order to obtain higher level workers. In a way, this may make sense. Higher skill level = higher productivity. Though it also means higher prices.
I am asking business owners to do what is necessary not only for the good of their company but also for the good of their fellow Irish citizens. If it means taking a cut in profit to help the country eat, then I implore you to do so. In another article I published, I suggested that companies whose employee numbers exceed the maximum productivity level to work in cooperation with other companies. Talk to your employees and other companies who need more workers to produce the maximum product. It may only be temporary but may do a world of good. Whether this is in raw materials or production, let us increase our productivity. As an employee, if my employer approached me regarding moving to another company to boost productivity, I would gladly answer.
I realize this may not be the answer. I can handle criticism where it is needed. I don't own a business and haven't a clue about what it is like in eRepublik. Please feel free to set me straight. However, while you are at it, think about what I am really asking. I am asking for us to do what is necessary to make our country grow and prosper. I am asking for us to work together for our country, not just our bank rolls. This is just one idea, I am asking for discussion on what will work to make our country desirable. I am asking for everyone, whether they own a business, own a newspaper, are a member of Congress or one of our citizens, to give up ideas and discuss what is being offered as ideas. Every idea should be listened to and discussed. Some don't want to live here due to our economy. We need to work together Ireland if we want to succed.

COMMUNITY
How many citizens live in Ireland? The number I just found was 609 if you can believe it. That seems like an impressive number until you think about how many are active in the Irish forum. My question to those of you who are not active in the forum is- What can you do for your country? What do you like about your country? What don't you like about your country? What would you like to see changed in your country? What would you like to see your country do for you? What, What, What? Okay, that was more that one question. Speak up people. Start communicating with each other. If you are content to just click "work" and "train" and have that be the extent of your experience in eRepublik then my questions are moot. But for those looking for a little more, let your voice be heard. Join in the discussions on the forums and in the newspaper posts. Publish articles if you own a newspaper, or ask for someone else to publish in their newspaper. Get in touch with the Congresspeople who work for YOU. I will remind you, this is a social game. So get social. Become involved. Join a Party. Run for office. Help where needed. Make friends. Just GET SOCIAL.
