You know you want to ....

Day 2,751, 07:26 Published in Australia Australia by Henry the 8th

Greetings, loyal and loving subjects. The game gods have decreed that I must seek a mandate from you, my people, once more. This coming month, I have some ideas to add to unfinished business from last time.

During the past month it has come to my attention that we do not retain our young players well, nor do we train them enough. Yes, the JDS is there for our new players, but it needs a royal boot up the backside! Not enough new players know about it. Not enough players come out the other side well rounded individuals.

Details are still under development, but I will extensively revamp and expand the JDS next month. Among possibilities being canvassed are loans for training ground upgrades and/or company upgrades, and incentives for players to make their first foray into the media. I am prepared to commit at least $10,000 monthly of government revenue to this program, also some selected orgs will be rented for gold which we can use in multiple areas of player development and nation building.

Overseeing the implementation of this program will be Callumh123, my nominated Minister of Education.

Communication shall be a hallmark of my next month's government. I will have a dedicated citizen in my cabinet whose role it will be to keep the senate and the public abreast of developments. Your pleas for information have not fallen on deaf ears!

We also must continue our efforts to conduct government business and debates on our forum. As has been stated by others before, this is the best way available for including our senators and public in the business of government.

James Rellori, my Prime Minister and Aussie Vegeta, my deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff have agreed to assume responsibility for communications.

As I hinted at in the beginning of this article, some business remains unfinished from last month. A war has been provided as promised. The strike against Germark will be a hard war, but it is important to us and in pursuit of our alliance goals. The broader our alliance family, the more confidence we have that our regions will remain secure.

However! Our weapons producers still languish without bonuses (I should know, I'm one of them...). I remain committed to obtaining weapons resource bonuses. I feel this is unlikely to have a quick solution. We are in the enviable position of being surrounded by allies and friends. Diplomacy must be allowed time to work in our favour.

Brigidd has kindly agreed to be my Minister of Defence, should she not win office. Good luck Brigidd, and may the best man win!

Our diplomats have also been focused upon the region rental with Peru in recent weeks. I am pleased to announce that the agreement has been re-negotiated in our favour. Peru have agreed to increase their monthly rent in exchange for Queensland and the Northern Territory. I realise this is hard to accept for some people. I understand what it feels like, being a Queenslander myself... Still, these regions are surplus to our needs and should be treated as tradeable commodities - like anything else in this game.

I am pleased to announce the return of perennial crowd favourite, and architect of the original region rental agreement, Rusty D. Rusty will be my Minister for Foreign Affairs, and is keen to renovate our relationship with Nebula, and improve communication of their goals to the public of member nations.

Lastly, but by no means the least, I have spent a good deal of effort this past month deriving a sustainable tax base. Some experimentation was needed, but I believe our rates are now equitable and provide enough revenue to meet our obligations. There may be some tinkering around the edges, especially with regards to Import Taxes. Overseeing this operation will be sirjames244, my Minister of Finance

One last comment, if you will take the time. Old players have a responsibility to teach new players, as they were taught in their own time. They have a responsibility to leave the country, and the game, no worse than it was when they arrived.

This drive to learn is a two-way street. If you are a new (or a not-so-new) citizen and you see something that ignites your passion please, get in touch with me. Or the Minister responsible for whatever it is that gets you going. We welcome all who are willing to learn and work at building a better nation. If you don’t speak up, we may not ever know you are there.
