I would also like to add that the decision is not just on who the dictator should be but what their responsibilities are going to be. How much power are we expecting the dictator to have? Do we want someone who will govern with as much power as the CP? Do we want someone to just be their to advise? Do we want someone who will do nothing but just click the buttons that Congress and CP decide? Obviously depending on what we want the dictator to do will help determine who should be dictator.

If the role is to do what Congress say then someone very reliable and trustworthy such as Huey (or myself - obviously) could have the role. If we want a dictator who knows the game inside out and can take major decisions when we need them then we might look towards someone like SerF. They are just examples, I'm not whether any of them would take the role on.

We also need to consider the further future. Determination will rise while under dictatorship, what will we do? How long will we keep dictatorship for? Will we have a plan for when we lose dictatorship? We can sit here and wait until the time comes or we can plan. Also, do we want the same dictator for the next month, I presume we do which is why we are looking for the most trustworthy person.

Lots to think about guys. Most importantly, who should be dictator?

After Huey's performance as CP, it is questionable if he would get the support of the majority of congress - and I offer no judgement in that beyond not everyone was impressed with him regardless of whether or not those supportive of him think it is fair or not.

My point doesn't really have much to do with Huey, I was just using him as an example of a trustworthy player.

This has been a bloody mess, to the point that I think it's clear some people in the UK need to take some time to remind themselves that this is a game. Glad it's over.

Time to put all of that discussion to work and sort out a referendum that won't be deemed invalid.

Maybe as a way to get up a vote count that will be "acceptable" The discussion arround the referendum should include PPs so that they themselves or the party spokesperson can mass email their members to have them vote

Problem with the last vote was too many options, we could have to interpret things like "oh 14% voted for CP Dictator and 37% voted for Trusted Person but they are similar so was that 51% for Dictator or did Democracy win with 49%?"

The thing is that some will want Democracy but will prefer one Dictator option over the other if we can't have Democracy. Some will prefer one Dictator option but would rather have Democracy than the other Dictator option. For example I would vote for Democracy but if that option loses I want a say on getting the CP as Dictator.

I think we should have everyone put the 3 options in order, then eliminate the one with the lowest vote share and count all those people's second choice. Er... is it called Single Transferable Vote? Then if trusted person is chosen we can have a big deal picking that person after.

The just choice is to hand it over to Max Blue as he is the elected CP and he should hold the role until congress or the public decide the best course of action. There is plenty of time before the next CP to make a decision and this probably doesn't need to be rushed unless anyone thinks Max Blue is untrustworthy.

There is an argument that letting the people vote is not exactly a great idea. After all, surely that is why we got into this mess in the first place. It's plain to see that democracy won't work until the fundamental flaws of the dictatorship module (i.e. allowing the takeover of "dead" military units to perform a hostile MTO, rather than gaining citizenship and creating a new MU for that same purpose) is fixed, so the only "safe" option is to retain the dictatorship until these flaws are resolved.

My preference would be to hold the dictatorship by a neutral party until such a time as the new CP is elected, after which the rulings of the Governance Act, which was passed as legislation after Adastros gave the dictatorship to Wayne (and by that very definition, Adastros did nothing against legislation, although one might question whether it was "morally" right not to hand over to Huey), shall come into force and the new CP will be given the dictatorship.

This neutral party must abide by congressional decisions (and that means, congress, we need to sort our acts out), otherwise we're back at square one.

I would disagree and say we got into this mess because we didn't listen.

Firstly, we didn't listen to the people when Huey got elected and should have received the Dictatorship position, but then it went to Wayne.

Secondly we didn't listen to Huey's referendum which spurned some players to fight for revolution.

Thirdly Scarfar was shot down in his attempt to bring public discussion, but still managed to secure the exile of MEK where all those private backroom deals failed.

If we want lasting stability where one, two or a small group of players don't go out of their way to mess things up we need as big of a consensus as possible.

People are not idiots, they deserve more respect. Every voice is equal. If you feel you are right, then surely it would be easy to convince the masses.

Perhaps. Apathy certainly played a part, both in the population as a whole and in congress. Yes, by informal agreement Huey should have taken over the dictatorship, but the apathy of congress delayed the passing of any formal legislation. Huey's referendum was (as noted elsewhere by others) fundamentally flawed in it's question, and one might consider that the number of votes cast was low as a percentage of the "active" eUK population. Must have missed Scarfar being "shot down" - the only real antagonist in his previous article was FreeGigi herself.

I don't think people are idiots. I do, however, believe that they are generally indifferent and reactive, and we let ourselves sleepwalk into a position where we were easy prey for MEK. It's time we started, both as a general population and in congress, to become proactive and take hold of our destiny.

Perhaps we can agree insofar as this Country needs real Leadership. Someone that can resonate with the apathetic masses and spur them into action.

I've seen Intelligence, Integrity, Enthusiasm, Charisma, but sadly no one that encapsulates that all under 'Leadership.'

No. He broke an informal agreement that had not been codified and passed into law by congress until after the deed was done. I'm not saying I agreed with what he did or that he was ethically or morally in the right, but he broke no laws.

No one cares that Congress was a day or two late finishing a vote before an election deadline, except you. Adastros had more than 3 weeks to object to it, he waited until the day after the next election when he wasn't CP anymore.

Having the CP holding the Dictatorship position is by far the best option. I see you refer to Ireland but that is pointless in the case of UK as we managed to be robbed quite well by elected CPs as well..

There are several countries in the eWorld now that have the system of CP as Dick. Its all about electing the right people. I know this is easier said than done, but it put pressure on the whole policial community. PPs have to vent their candidates properly before running them in the election and the voters have to vote on candidates that are reliable and that you respect.

I know some might have a negative view on the whole dictatorhip module but it is a much better choice than democracy at this moment.

Responsibility also lies with the CP/Dick to actually hand over the reign to the next elected president. Try thinking of the community rather than the lols for youself.

The UK tressury is at risk either way. It was proven this time that even with democracy we will not be able to empty our coffers and keep the money safe.

What is so good about democracy? Look at the long list of CPs who have cheated us and run off with the countries money. Lets face it we have elected some real dorks over the years.
Give Scarfar a go until he gets bored with it or bring back Wayne(a safe pair of Hands) even Adratos had more common sense than our elected officials. We need people that will act decisively not people who talk endlessly and prevaricate whilst the country is wrecked through their inaction.
