Yes, I know that eRepublik isn't RL!

But that doesn't stop me from having RL beliefs especially in a game where Politics plays a major part. What led me to eUSA's Libertarian Party is my firm belief in the Non-aggression principle, and as stated on the page of the Libertarian Party:

"We believe in absolute individual freedom so long as that freedom does not infringe on the individual freedoms of others."

As we're playing a game that involves politics, I like this principle to be reflected in my eRepublik political beliefs. So, as I've chosen to be a member of the Libertarian Party, I like to let my IG actions be reflected in those ethics and principles of absolute individual freedom. Of course, because I dare to let ethics and principles determine my IG actions, it has been pointed out to me that eRepublik is not RL. Sure, I can be a jerk IG and have fun doing it -- with no regard to ethics or principles -- but is that how you would want your fellow eRepublik players to act?

If I wanted to make that roleplaying challenge and act like an Authoritarian jerk (aka Jack-Booted Thug), I would join S.E.E.S. which states the following:

"Here at S.E.E.S. we believe in one thing, above all others; that you are, in all likelihood, an idiot and need to be lead by the nose past your flailing, gibbering self-absorption and into the service of Dio and the service of Emericka. Fear not, friend. S.E.E.S. is here to force itself upon you."

Some Jack-Booted Thugs from RL history

But, think about it. Which is easier? To do what comes naturally for you or to act against your nature? It reminds me of the following adage -- or urban legen😛

"It takes 37 muscles to frown. And 22 muscles to smile. So Smile. It conserves energy."

And I've always been one to conserve energy, it lets me do more.

P.S. For those S.E.E.S. Party Members, who forget that this is just a game full of fictional political parties, companies, player characters, etc. and not RL, and therefore take offense. This article is delivered in the same spirit as S.E.E.S. delivers its opinion of eUSA's citizenry as idiots who "need to be lead by the nose past [our] flailing, gibbering self-absorption and into the service of Dio and the service of Emericka."
