Yankee Troubles

Day 437, 14:35 Published in Canada United Kingdom by 70mD

If you are confused about the recent events, or you even think that you knew how or what happened, think again. The following interview is both shocking and cynical. It is not only an interview about what happened, but about who did it - the e😜resident of the eUS, Franco (Current name: Teacher). Tis an interview on the stolen money from the eUS treasury, as well as why he removed the eUS forums. He also admits to breaking many rules in erepublik in the interview. Read the entire thing!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Benn>: So, Franco, how do you feel about the eUS today?
Benn>: Give me three different descriptive words
Franco>: That's very hard. Give me a few seconds to find the right ones.
Franco>: stuck-up (that's one word), too-serious (again 1 word) and ignorant.
Benn>: I assume that that's mostly talking about the congress, which is fair in saying that they represent the US. Is that accurate?
Franco>: Congress, but not all of them. A lot of regular users, usually new, are quite dumb. They are inherently dumb or they are very, very smart and attempt to relate RL to eRep too much. In the end, no matter what, they sound dumb. And they are outspoken.
Benn>: Is this one of the reasons that drove you to remove both the eUS forums and the eUS treasury?
Franco>: I removed the eUS forums for a few reasons. One, users looked up my whois (who.is) information and threatened to send me this and that. I'm not scared, but I thought to myself "I've hosted this for free for many months, this is my thanks?" Also, people decided to attempt to leech my database, which is the same as theft. I took it down for some laughs, which worked out well. All of the reactions were great, good job guys. I stole from the US treasury mainly because of spite towards Justin
Benn>: How exactly did you steal from the treasury? Many have said that you used the email to reset the password, but the original starter of the US reserve was e😜resident Immunogenic, correct?
Franco>: Correct, it was. I changed the email a total of 13 times between the end of my presidency and now. I at once even changed it to something similar to "Iamgoingtohackyou@gmail.com", plus or minus some numbers. I recovered it via email and dispersed the money to the American people via the money market at reduced rates. When I sold USD, I got more gold, so I did this many times. Each time the amount slowly dwindled. Some lucky fuck got 600 gold for 27k USD.
: How did you come in possession of the email if it was originally started and controlled by Immunogenic?
: A common misconception. All you need is access to the account to change the email. There is no confirmation sent to the prior email or anything of the sort. I changed the email from "socompanyusa@googlemail.com" to, in the end, "socompanyus@gmail.com", hence minor changes.
Benn>: So this act was premeditated? How long have you been planning this?
Franco>: Actually, it wasn't. At first, it was to see if I could do it. When no one noticed it, I kept it in my back pocket as a bargaining chip; possibly for US aide if I ever needed it in South Korea, but I never actually was going to steal. Justin's embargo and subsequent election bomb (rigging of an election, for those out of the loop. Justin allegedly (imo he did) authorized the military to vote in a south korean election and influence the result) sent me over the edge and I decided to go out with a bang.
Benn>: Haven't you had enough "bargaining chip"s as is? The eUS forums, eUS chat, all things that you have started and created and held as a tool against the US.
Franco>: Obviously they weren't enough to stop Justin.
Benn>: Well, in his sake (because he has very limited comp access these days), I think it's fair to assume that he DIDNT authorize the military to move to South Korea, and that his embargo was not in spite of a personal grudge.
Benn>: Why do you think the opposite?
Franco>: He admitted that he looked the other way
Franco>: It was a "volunteer" mission
Franco>: Which I know is shit, because I have a link of a military order sent from Leroy Combs
Benn>: That PM was a followup message
Benn>: Your source was, in fact, a citizen who volunteered for the spot after receiving the first message, then received the second PM after the CIA acknowledged his pledged involvement.
Franco>: Sounded a whole lot like an order to me. Agree to disagree
Benn>: The second PM, however, was the one that you and everybody else received.
Franco>: Because, to me, it sounds like a convenient excuse. Neither of our opinion's matter, in the long run.
Benn>: Yes, agreed that what's in the past is in the past.
Benn>: But what about America's future?
Franco>: America will rebuild. That I have no doubt about.
Franco>: Consider it a test.
Benn>: We are resorting to extremely high taxes, a very unfavorable condition for the country.
Franco>: My name is Teacher, after all. I feel only right to give such exams.
Franco>: Maybe you, Mr. Dover, a rich businessman, could help out the country?
Benn>: I do help the country
Benn>: By providing high quality food, houses, defensive systems, and weapons
Franco>: There was a point in RL American history in which Mr. Vanderbilt, if I recall, was richer than the country and offered to lend it money to get out of debt.
Benn>: To me, it sounds like you're the one with the convenient excuses. Did you actually think of the effects that destroying our treasury and forums would bring when you performed your aforementioned acts?
Franco>: I am not justifying my actions. They were wrong. However, I, to be honest, don't care. Consider it a wakeup call for America to change, vastly. Lots of wrongs need to be righted.
Benn>: Your mindset is of apathy, and you speak out against exactly the opposite.
Benn>: But it is obvious that if we invest in apathetic minds, our country will become something similar to what you brought it down to be
Franco>: I wouldn't say that.
Franco>: I'd say months of this game made me bitter towards America for this and that.
Franco>: And how it turned in the last few months (more serious, less fun) led me to this. As I said, Justin's actions pushed me over the edge. I was once very serious, then I realized it wasn't worth it. How do you think someone not serious becomes President?
Benn>: So you're saying that at one point, you were very serious about this game too?
Franco>: Absoloutely. I'm trying to get others not to make the same mistake I did; taking it too seriously. Of course, that was not nearly my only incentive. But it was one of them.
Benn>: How was over activity and seriousness a mistake?
Benn>: It obviously was enough to get you to become president.
Franco>: Are you calling me a no lifer, you bastard!?
Benn>: Hah, if anyone's a no lifer... /me points at self
Franco>: Well, it was a mistake in many ways. In the end, all that matters is that, for me, it took all the fun out of the game.
Franco>: if I drive one person away from seriousness, it's worth to me the 2000g wasted.
Benn>: Right
Franco>: And, really, all I did was give gold to Americans. Instead of the government having the money, the people have it.
Franco>: Hardly right
Franco>: but it's not like I pocketed the whole thing.
Franco>: In fact, the alerts can and will be checked, I didn't profit a dime.
Benn>: I'm not sure that anyone in the world, let alone the eUS agrees with your sacrifice, but if that is how you want to exert your power then that's how history will remember the name Franco by.
Franco>: I didn't expect anyone to nor did I expect sympathy.
Franco>: Did lots of illegal things in this game, this is only one of them.
Benn>: Oh?
Franco>: Haha, it is numerous.
Benn>: Perhaps you can name a few other illegal things that you've partaken in over the months
Franco>: I made, in beta, 1500 gold off of multis. I paid someone a dollar to make 5 accounts, 5 emails, and forward the gold to one, central organization. Then I sold the gold back for real life money on the "black market"
Benn>: Hah
Franco>: It cost one dollar to make 25 gold and I sold that gold for around $10-15
Franco>: sometimes even more.
Franco>: I had multis that I played on and interacted with. Lots within eUSA.
Benn>: Since you are going out with such a "bang", maybe you could tell the world who your purchaser was?
Franco>: What's to say I'm not selling them the rest of my gold right now?
Benn>: Mind naming some of your multi accounts?
Franco>: I'd rather not. They can die down with me.
Benn>: Sure
Franco>: Maybe when you PM someone, it's actually me on my multi.
Franco>: 😉
Benn>: How prominent were your multis?
Benn>: Similar to the Korbin King relationship?
Franco>: A little more. I had a lot of just "drones", per se. Worker bees that didn't do much besides work. Some got pretty good wages and I was making $500 a day off of working 😛
Franco>: I had one that got somewhere in the military, never above the Squad Leader type role.
Benn>: Sounds about what I'm getting legally 😉
Franco>: yeah yeah.
Franco>: I also have many, many businesses I will retire with
Franco>: Before I sold them off, not near as many as you had, but I had a good amount of businesses to go along with my black market scheme.
Benn>: Did you ever do anything politically corrupt over the months?
Franco>: Never.
Franco>: That's one thing I am happy to be perfectly legitimate in.
Benn>: Anything party-related?
Franco>: Never.
Benn>: how about military?
Franco>: Never been much of an influence with the military. Even as President, I let the NSC Director run it.
Benn>: Is there anything else you'd like to say about your actions, or even your erepublik career?
Franco>: I'd like to say a few things, if I may
Benn>: Of course
Franco>: during the past few days a lot of people have tried to 'analyze' me and my personality.
[Franco glared at Jamon Tyler]
You are all fools, stop it. They say I 'crave attention'. This may be true; it's a subconscious thing, but I don't think that. A person PM'ed me after I came clean and had the best analysis I've ever seen. Some people actually like to, in a sense, role play. Interesting concept, huh? My alter-ego is the opposite of my real personality. In real life I'm calm, relaxed, and basically revolve my life around sports, weightlifting, and politics, as well as the normal high school stuff (friends, et al). So, please, don't try to analyze people you have never met. You only make fools of yourselves.
Franco>: that's all I've got for now.
Benn>: Hah
Benn>: Well, thank you for your time Franco. If there's one person who I met during my erepublik prime, saw develop over the months, and is now quitting during the end of my erepublik prime, it is yourself.
Franco>: Thanks. Be well, Bennjamin. If anyone besides you tries to use that, I'm suing them, because I created that nickname.
