Well, apparently I am out. The Umbrella Research Party, which had previously endorsed my candidacy, has chosen to change its endorsement to Ajay Bruno. Wow! Didn't see that coming. Ah well, it doesn't really bother me all that much because it means that I can now enjoy a nice holiday from the hustle and bustle of eRepublik politics until the next election cycle. I'll be doing my version of two-clicking for the unforeseeable future, which means I'll still take part in Congressional debates and spend a few hours a day on the forums. Plus, I will continue to donate moving tickets to anyone needing them to move to Florida or New Jersey.
Since I am no longer running, I suppose I need to let my supporters know who I think will make the best next president. After reading the platforms of the current candidates, and having worked closely with each over the last three months in some capacity, I must say that Josh Hoss (UIP) is the best candidate for President. I like his platform and he has a strong military background, something we need if we are to keep fighting this war. Thank you for the support I've received the last few months. I've really enjoyed working in the political realm, but now I will recede into the shadows to watch.

Thanks for explaining. This came as a shock to me as well, considering you were very nearly the second most popular candidate (pretty much tied with Emerick) and that Ajay Bruno has very little support outside of his own party (from what I've seen and poll results).
I thank you Chris for what you have tried for the country.
So now that they dumped you, can you tell us for certain they are PEACE supporters? There are some pretty convincing articles that would support this contention.

Spot on Chris, way to be the better man. I for one was getting disappointed at your ppd. The increase rate had dropped off, and we were all looking for the illustrious 100ppd by mid-August, now its going to be set back about a week or two.

There are two parts to answering that question.
1. Emerick is crazy: he's wildly unpredictable, and that's just how he is.
2. Emerick is doing anything he can to tear hoss down right now. So much for a united front.

I'm sorry you arn't running chris. You would have made a fine president. Ajay Bruno does have support amoung a solid group though... I wonder how the elections will turn out.

I'm still learning the game mechanics ... but I am a URP member and I had no input on the party's candidate selection. I was anticipating on voting for Chris. I guess that I need to work (err play) harder at this game.

But, it is really not a surprise to see that your party had stabbed you in the back. It seems your party is based mostly on backstabbing. First they ( and you ) wanted to turn their backs on our allies. And now they turn their backs on you.
