Without Qualm; Candidacy Declared

Day 810, 21:45 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Lynari

Yesterday, I wrote an article called The Leader of Free Switzerland and asked who would lead us in our struggle against the Shaolin as the Party President of the Swiss Liberal Party.

Later that day, Eleriel left the Swiss Liberal Party in my care.

In that article, I explained that I was hesitant to offer myself for the task of guiding Switzerland during these dark days. I must admit that I was not fully honest about my reason why. I wrote that it was my newness to Switzerland that gave me doubts, but I was almost as new to Austria when I became President of that nation without qualm. The true reason for my hesitance was that I was trying to not do Switzerland an injustice. If you remember, I mentioned in The Future of Partisanship that it was my desire to get back into politics. For me to eagerly jump on the opportunity to assume power would be to take advantage of Switzerland when it lacked leaders and was vulnerable. This was not my intention.

But I am being asked of something else now. Switzerland is in dire need of a leader. I cannot sit back and be idle at a time like this, just for the selfish sake of appearing modest. This is why I have applied to become a candidate for Party President of the Swiss Liberal Party for the February elections. If the people will allow it, I hope to be the one to lead us in taking back what is rightfully ours.
