Will President Israel Stevens be remembered as one of the greats?

The word of the day is "CTRL".

Today we have a new president, so let's all hail the new chief: Evry. Everyone subscribe to his paper (immediately after subscribing to mine, of course!).

But this article is not about the new president, it's about our outgoing president, Israel Stevens. In my opinion, IS has been one of the best since I joined this game 3 years ago. But don't take my word, let's look at his accomplishments.

1) TANK UP TO RANK UP (TU2RU)

This program was Israel's idea and he funded the first month with over 200 gold out of his own pocket. That's right, with his own money. This is our best program coming out of the new Divisions. Tanks are given to lower division players, helping us win battles in D1, D2, and D3, and helping with retention. Kudos to Molly Emma and her team for running this wonderful program!

TU2RU has been so successful that Congress got behind it and is making it a permanent part of the budget. I'm sure this will be a lasting part of Israel's legacy for years to come.

2) CTRL

C - Control
T - Tactics
R - Reliability
L - Longevity

What is that? A new global alliance! This was started by President Israel Thomas, and negotiated by Secretary of State Tenshibo. This is an acknowledgement that the old alliance, Terra, is effectively dead without Brazil, and despite some valid concerns, this is what the eUSA needs right here right now.

The original signatories to the CTRL alliance are the United States, Poland, Spain, and Brazil. Other countries will be invited to join, including some of our best traditional allies and bros.

This is a powerful alliance that will last many months, if not years. CTRL will be more powerful than ONE and will relieve us from being continually dragged into Balkan conflicts.

3) THE ROGUE SQUADRON.

This is new branch of the USAF that caters specifically to Division 3, exactly what we need. The eUSA is a D4-heavy country, so the Rogue Squad and TU2RU will help us compete at lower divisions as well.

4) SECRETARY OF EDUCATION.

The Department of Education has been expanded and is finally a cabinet-level position.

5) WE PREVENTED A WIPE THROUGH DIPLOMACY.

Remember the disaster of Aquitaine? And the blood bath in North Carolina? Diplomacy stopped the attack and allowed us to keep Aquitaine, securing 100% weapons bonus.

This record is outstanding and was achieved in only one term. And with a minimum of drama and conflict.

Conclusion: YES, President Israel Stevens will be remembered as one of the greats.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Israel Stevens.

Why didn't you seek a second term?

I wanted a second term, but I'm going to Europe for two weeks. So, I really couldn't run again. I am sad that I won't get to see the alliance come to fruition under my guidance, but I have full trust in Evry and Tenshibo.

What's next?

I don't know what's next. I'm probably going to take it easy for a bit. Do a little writing in my newspaper but not really get involved in anything substantial. I know I'll get dragged in again at some point though.
