Why we play eRep? ( PoV )

Alright, so we all saw the question posed by Cloppy, might aswell give it a shot.
Since i have started playing there have been many turning points in which i did wonder, like many of us must have had : "why?"
Why do i keep at this? What's my motivation? Why go online at push those blasted button and get the chicken?
It wasn't patriotism in my country, i'm no patriot or patriotard ) as i call most people who just blindly follow an idea because it has "hail X country!" where X is theirs ). Hey at least i'm honest about it! 😃

I caught V2 when i started playing so it definitely wasn't the military system that got my attention. No, not any of that.
It was the...ECONOMIC system. Yeah the hated V2 "omg too complicated" economic system that i have found rather simplistic and have advocated for even more diversity is the thing that got me hooked.

Why do i still play now?
I don't know, why do things happen as they do in life? Maybe it's addiction, maybe it's my love for strategical planning, or maybe the community.
Maybe it gives the feeling of big acomplishement ( if you're a politician ).
Maybe you wanna be a great warrior - virtually anyway.
On a side note it would be nice to see how many failed to meet their military service but have high 'ranks' in this game.
eRep is one of the many virtual worlds where we can achieve what we have not in RL.
Be a politician, be in power, be rich, be a hero, be a villain, he an asshole to everyone, or maybe try out new ways of government and see how that would turn out. It's a sandbox, a sandbox we all change and play with.
( and if Flato would bug out it would be a nice sandbox but i am deviatiing <.>
So in short, i say we all play to try out how our ideal life would have turned out if we had been dealt better cards in life or had managed our choices differently.
If we like our eLife then it becomes addictive, addiction is a result of enjoyment, not the other way around. The eWorld is full of dead people who are either successful in their RL or who didn't like their paralel lives that much and opted out.

Why you think developed countries are so underpopulated? 🙂

*Sigh*
I'll follow this up in another article with a sort of history or resume if you will of my own so you all get to know me.
Now..i gotta find out which category to put this thing in...

Cheerio!
