Why We Are So Pissed At The Greeks

Day 1,520, 13:59 Published in Egypt Egypt by Wizard of Az

After reading President Akhraziel's article I'm sure you are wondering what caused this dramatic shift. The term started out simple enough; a hope for neutrality and stability in a recently ATO'd Egypt.

Akhraziel sent diplomats to every country that would recieve them, attempted to forge a neutral identity. However if you look at Egypt's MPP stack you would get a completely different impression. That is because, simply put, the TEDEN countries would not recieve our requests for MPPs. We attempted neutrality, we really did but each country pointed to our MPP with eMacedonia and no EDEN MPP and said look you are not neutral, MPP denied.

Now onto the main point; Greece. One of the first actions we partoke in at the beggining of the term was an attempt at peace with Greece. Their MoFA Ktroul was receptive to the idea and over a period of two weeks (time differences made negotiations hard) we forged a peace treaty that had great promise. All it was missing was a Greek CP signature, Akhraziel had approved it in theory but needed to wait for the final version before being able to commit, and Greece and Egypt could live in peace.

Then last night we are slapped in the face with a NE Proposal. We were shocked, maybe its a mistake we thought. I immediately began messaging all Greek Congressmembers informing them of the peace talks and asking them to vote not, but it appears outside of two congressmen the request fell on deaf ears. Akhraziel in the meantime talked to the Greek CP who informed us that "We should learn some respect for Greece and him. Maybe not having a country for a few months would teach us that". Now what caused him to say this you ask, a simple request for rent (or a loan) to help keep the Egyptian government able to supply Egyptian Babies who were having a tough time leveling under the current tax code imposed by the PTOers (for comparison you can buy 2 Q6 tanks after working for 3 days at the highest pay bracket in Egypt due to the taxes).

I had a brief incursion into the Greek IRC where the self proclaimed left hand man of the CP, maybe the vCP but I'm unsure, admitted he knew nothing of the peace deals even going on. So where does that leave us?

Pretty much sums it up nicely.

You see Greece is many times larger than Egypt and with a heftier MPP stack. Greece has in effect arrogantly claimed that Egypt is hers and that she should be in control all of her affairs. Fun fact, the only region Greece needs from Egypt for resource bonuses that she currently doesnt have is Middle Egypt. Due to the tax problem it was negotiated, again still pending approval, that Egypt would maintain the region UNTIL congressional elections so we have at least one FRM to make food more affordable for the newbies. We even offered up to NE them so they dont have to waste the proposal afterwords and engage in a quick RW style land swap.

So, after all of this I think you can imagine why we are sufficiently pissed.

TL😉R? The only metaphor I can give you is you make a building together with a friend in Minecraft for two weeks, then you wake up one morning to find his friend has come and griefed only your side of the building. Sorry this didnt have much more metaphorical implications.
