The Independent Alliancewas created on the 16th of February 2013, It was created to offer something different to all the other eUK political parties and within it's first three weeks its membership had rocketed from 2 members to 30. There are many fine political parties in the eUK but we felt there was a gap in the qualities that we wanted to represent and through this vision we have created the most open party in the eUK where our members are all equal in power and equal in their say.

The concept behind the Independent Alliance was to establish a community that didn't feel the need to buy votes for our articles because we are confident that the contents within our articles fully deserve whatever the eUK public deem them worthy. We wanted a party that didn't put self interest above others and would always prioritise the eUK first and so far we believe we have accomplished this. Some parties are happy to purchase votes for their articles and that is their decision, we are not attacking them for it just putting forward our personal point of view.

We wanted to establish ourselves as a party that draws in new members for the feel of our community and what we have to offer rather than what supplies members can get. Any party can offer supplies as an incentive and it is very easy for new players to eRepublik to have their heads turned, but we felt that the eUK's best interest is served in donating to the NHS. This is why we have established a regular monthly donation to the NHS scheme instead of using that gold to fund resources for recruiting. Whether those new players benefiting from the NHS are in TUP, New Era, ESO or wherever we do not care because we see the country as a community forged together in this game and we are happy to put their interests above our own. Again this is not an attack on policies of other parties but we do not apologise for prioritising the NHS.

We also will not approach any member of another party, this is something we feel very strongly about and we hope other parties agree with us.



Well political parties elect a party President who pushes the buttons and retains the power. At the Independent Alliance we wanted a truly democratic party focused on it's members and distributing power even though it is against the games mechanics. So shall we see what makes the Independent Alliance unique?

We are the first party where our members decide the order of our congress candidates. This is done by ballot where members will rate their top five candidates in order of preference. First preference will get 5points, second preference 4 points etc etc. The candidate with the highest score will be placed at number one in our Candidate listings. This is a unique system where as other parties candidate listings are decided by their party Presidents.

We are the first party to elect our party officials. Game mechanics say this is down to the party President but again we created a system where the membership elects party officials, thus further assuring that every member is just as equal as the next one. We do not talk rhetoric with regards to being the party of the people...we prove it.

The Independent Alliance media fund. The original idea was born from two of our members and has now born fruits at the Independent Alliance. The media fund is a scheme were the party funds its members to create their own newspapers and the party pays the cost, there is no catch and we are proud that members are free to publish whatever content they wish. The Independent Alliance expects no party promotion so it genuinely is a scheme based on sincerity and helping players become more involved in the eUK community. New players have already taken up this grant and begun creating some fabulous articles, one young member has already produced a fantastic election poll that was against common expectation but was actually correct in it's prediction.

Party donations to the NHS. As well as individual donations we have set up a monthly fund for the NHS scheme. We place the eUK above ourselves and helping continue the marvelous NHS scheme is something we back wholeheartedly as a party.



Of course there are many other aspects to the party but we are honest enough to admit they are not unique from other political parties...such as members getting the final say on who the party backs in the country Presidential elections, monthly party conferences that votes on policy directions or who the party runs with in the congressional elections. Already our members have voted on what party logo they wanted and even what avatar they want to see the membership represent...if they choose to display one of course.

The traits shared with other parties go hand in hand with our unique aspects that puts our members in a position where they have more of a say in the running and decisions of their party than any other party's members. This is not just a bold claim. Our policies as well as principals are what forge us as a new and exciting political party and those go hand in hand with humility knowing that we will never take our members or the eUK for granted.
