Yes, a bit confrontational, but it has to be said. No matter what we do, we will fail.

We are a huge nation, with many competing interests. The closest I've seen personally of a majority of Americans working together was during the darkest hours of the North American invasion. And it figured, just as soon as we vanquished those fgts, we turned on our true enemy.

Ourselves.

We are a nation divided. And not by any measurable metric. But it's there. For my European friends, imagine the United States as a group of nations clustered together. We're less crazy than the Balkans, but we have our moments. So instead of a rivalry between clustered nations we get regional and sociopolitical factions slugging it out.

Some stay above the fray, some fall prey to snark and snide remarks. Even I, who for so long tried to remain balanced and fair to all, have recently considered paying Spain to take eVirginia just to spite a handful of regionalists. Petty? Yes. I decided to donate most of that to (lesser) good causes instead. You have your reprieve for now, Richmond :3

I don't really know how else to describe this trait of our nation. We're too big for our own good, in-game and in real life. This may be why people in other countries think eAmerica is self-centered. Why fight with someone an ocean away when we have people RIGHT HERE who need to get punched in the nose?

In summation, we spend too much time fighting ourselves, and not enough time building structure to fight our external enemies. I don't know if that can be fixed without something drastic happening to unite us under one flag AND one cause.

As an aside, HR into POTUS \o/
