Why You Should Join the Socialist Freedom Party
Reason #4: Re-invent the World!

This is the fourth in a dramatic series of articles on why wonderful YOU! should join the eUSA's most innovative small party: the Socialist Freedom Party (SFP).

OK. A bit of understandable confusion sometimes arises between the real-life history of communism, socialism and anarchism and how e-anarchism, e-socialism and e-communism are played out in eRepublik. Simply put, they're not the same thing.

Look. It's basically a matter of attitude. The "wars" and "nations" and "companies" of e-Republik are Candyland mock-ups designed precisely to convince you to liberate some real life cash from your pocket and send it over to the Admins. When you play the game that way, you're playing the Admin's game. The revolutionaries, on the other hand, work on designing an approach to the game that frees minds and spirits instead.

The Socialist Freedom Party and other lefties seek to re-invent a society here in eRepublik that's never been seen in real life: one where both freedom and social solidarity are upheld. It's an appealing radical vision that's not easy to accomplish. That's what makes it fun to try.

SFPer riding a red rocket to the future.

Irish e-commie Brian Boru stated the facts well in a recent edition of The Hibernian:

The first four eRepublik Laws are:
1. All citizens are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
2. No citizen should oppress another citizen.
3. Freedom of press is absolute.
4. Properties obtained by a citizen through an illegal or unjust method will be impounded.

THEREFORE

Communist oppression is IMPOSSIBLE.
Communists can't seize your companies.
Communists can't suppress your opinion.
Communists can't send you to a firing squad.

RL Communism 😕= eCommunism.

In fact, not only does e-socialism (or whatever you want to call it) not curtail your freedom, it fits eRepublik like a hand-in-glove.

Take a stroll around the e-World. You'll find every imaginable take on what it means to be "far-left" or "anarchist" in the New World. From Spain's Bloque Obrero Internacionalista (International Workers Bloc), Spain's 4th largest party, and Frente Anarkoholiko (Anarchoholics Front) on the anarcho-syndicalist and anarchist side. To Russia's largest party, the Communist Party - Soviet Union on the "commie" side. The far-left in eRepublick is incredibly diverse.

And there's all sorts of combinations and variations on this theme.

Some of the far-leftie parties enjoy playing up the tongue-in-cheek aspect of being e-communists. Check out France's Koinmunauté Unie Libertaire (United Freedom Quackmunity), France's 3rd largest party, for example. The Australian Communist Party (#3 in Australia) and the UK's People's Communist Party (#3 in the UK) are likewise appreciated for their sense of humor.

What all of these groups have in common is a desire to play the game in a way that promotes true equality, international friendship and respect.

The Socialist Freedom Party itself embodies this diverse and innovative spirit. It is an inclusive place for critical thinkers.

Whether your vision of anarcho-syndicalism comes right out of Bakunin, or you're inspired by the history of the Haudenosaunee League... Whether you're a radical patriot, or a dedicated internationalist... A culture jammer, an anti-fascist, an anti-imperialist, an anti-capitalist, an old hippie, or a young punk... Or if you're just somebody who wants to give the admins a bit of grief by finding new ways to use the "canvas" of eRepublik... Take the time to check out the SFP and contribute your thoughts on re-inventing the world!

The Admin's eRepublik = Candyland
