Why is it taking so long for my WRM to sell?

GoingBroke in eUSA asks: Why is it taking so long for my WRM to sell?
I hate to tell you but it is partly my fault. With a big assist from Plato.
If you want the long story check out http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,32794.0.html
The short story – I proposed a Law to raise Import Tax on WRM, FRM, & HRM to 3%. The law passed. Unfortunately it looks like there is a very nasty Erep bug which apparently for low import tax (but higher than 1😵
causes Foreign sellers to be listed first on the market. And to add insult to injury import tax is on each unit and not the aggregate of the WRM put on the market and with WRM @ .02 the 3% tax was so low that Plato rounded to 0.
When the problem was discovered, Evry started the in motion a rollback of the Import Tax to 1% to undo the harm – I suggested and got some support for 99% but the law being voted on now is for a rollback to 1% which will undo the harm.
I have started in motion a second proposal to raise the import tax to 99% on WRM & FRM – see http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,32813.0.html.
What I expect this to do is cause foreign sellers to stop selling in the eUS which should help domestic providers like you to sell.
However, do not expect WRM prices to rise because @ .03 the cost of WRM to make a Q7 take is $6 and Q7s are selling for less than that and will likely continue to drop.
If you like this idea please comment and let your congress critters know. And if you do not like this please comment and help me complete the mission 🙂

Raise the Import tax.
I own 4 wrm factories.
that is so strange! so markets are not a first come first serve by price.
raise the import tax.
but maybe if we raise it to 99% we will learn the hard way what will it do? what strange coding has plato done
?
i suspect at levels above 50% for import tax that it inverts itself and causes the foreigners to get paid the amount they should be taxed!
Other countries have import tax sent to 99% - which given the way Plato calculates the tax works out to be 50% of the sale price
Yeah, could be worth a try.
agree
Sounds reasonable to me.
Hey well your at least letting us have a voice so I vote yes 🙂
Cheers
Stop the imports! o7

I'll support this
"However, do not expect WRM prices to rise because @ .03 the cost of WRM to make a Q7 take is $6 and Q7s are selling for less than that and will likely continue to drop."
I don't think this is true. If enough WRM comes off the market prices will go back up to .03cc/WRM. It will not be profitable to sell tanks at $6 if you purchase WRM and those people will stop making tanks, reducing supply and pushing tank prices higher. Tanks can then be made with .03cc/WRM and sold at a higher price. We will end up with higher priced WRM, tanks, and less supply.
\o/...99% taxes on imports...!

Plato Fails again.
yeah, raise taxes for import, but for weapons too and not just wrm! that way price of tanks will go up along with wrm price! and do it fast 'cause I've been losing money selling @0.01 wrm!!!
Do not sell @ .01 - If can not sell on market @ .02 try to find buyers who will pay more than .01
e.g. TheNorm http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/2006112 will buy WRM for .015
Use them for your own production and save on production cost paid out. Production cost is higher than the item price. It also depend on the facility size you have, it doesn't worth to produce 250 WRM at $3.44 but it worth to product 500 WRM at $3.44 (rubber plantation)
FIST
Or cause basically nobody buys WRM.
All in favor

Good to see you survived the ipad incident 🙂
its not a bug, its a feature 😛
protectionism lead to the 1st world war...
Protectionism did not lead to the first world war.
The main direct cause of WWI was the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand.
The second biggest cause was over the system of alliances and rivalries between Germany and Britain over their economic and naval power- between France and Germany over Alsace- and Russia and Austria over the Balkans.
All the problems in the balkans caused by Serbia.
Nationalism, Militarism.
The Annexation of Bosnia-Herzegovina
The Moroccan Crisis. + several other factors.
Protectionism was not a factor.
protectionism lead to the 2nd world war.
No, it did not. Would you like another long list of the actual causes of WWII?
fwiw erep has had "protectionism" for a long time check out what other nations have and have had for Import Tax for a long time
This is just eUS catching up
A supersaturated WRM market is why it is taking so long for your WRM to sell.
would be the case no matter what the duty is.
Also, getting the import tax raised to 99% seems a little self-serving, since you are obviously a purveyor of WRM, so I have no sympathy that it bit you in the rear.
Good luck with your media mission.
Actually I am a net consumer of WRM @ current consumption rate I have about 30 days supply of WRM
I just know a number of producers that have been hurt - one actually decided it was better to dissolve WRM factories rather than continue producing
I do however produce HRM which I sell and did not propose a 99% import tax on HRM - just FRM & WRM since the WAM tax hurts the producers of WRM & FRM - but doesn't hurt HRM producers since cannot WAM HRM
i vote to raise the import tax to 99%.
and drop the work tax to max. 5 %.
but this is what will not happen in eUS, hopefully i am wrong!!
