Why is everyone resigning from congress?

In the past couple of weeks, it seems we've had a rush of senators resign from Congress.
But why?
Why run for Congress if you're just going to leave after a couple of weeks? I've only been here for a couple of months, so maybe this is the way it's always been and I'm just now figuring it out.
But I don't understand why people run for Congress and leave before their term ends (with the exception of those who are forced out, like navy II). From what I can tell in the vote totals, we're at about 40 congressmen now out of 51.
Before you resign, remember that some of us ran for Congress and lost, and would like to be in your spots.

Some are moving to some of the new countries, which I respect.

I have no problems with non-Congressmen leaving the U.S. But the senators committed to serving their term for one month when they ran for office. They shouldn't leave until after their terms end, like Panther said he might.
Personally, I think it depends on the player's circumstances. Some people see an opportunity, and for no other reason than that, just decide to up and leave. That, I don't really approve of because you made a commitment to participate in congress on behalf of people who voted for you.
However, this isn't real life, and the environment of this game can change in a heartbeat. Good example, navy II did something stupid (robber baron hitting the national weapons companies) and was instantly called for it on the eusforum. What's he going to do, keep representing in congress when all of the other representatives clearly don't want him there?
I can't explain why everyone is leaving, and I'd bet you're right... at _least_ of them is ditching responsibility for no good reason. But I won't venture guesses as to which ones, because that's not my place.
Navy wasn't forced to go. He chose to leave.

Let them leave if they want to. It seperates the wheat from the chaff. Those of us still loyal to the eUS will rise from their ashes and rebuild a new order and justice that will reign supreme throuh all the eworld!

@Bill Brasky: Anyone on this list above and anyone who is inactive better not get re-elected, I agree completely.

Well, if these people ever run for anything, anywhere, feel free to mention that they bailed on a congressional seat in the US. People refusing to elect people who vacated a seat would be a useful warning to others in the future.
