Today most of the countries of the eworld will have congress elections.
Belgium will not. You may wonder: why?
Let's see the answer with the help of an expert:
- WHY BELGIUM DOESN'T HAVE A CONGRESS ELECTION?
Belgium doesn't have a congress because it is occupied by Poland.
Countries that are completely occupied by a foreign country can't have congress elections.
- WHY BELGIUM IS OCCUPIED BY POLAND?
Belgium is occupied because it attacked Poland some days ago. Poland is a lot stronger than Belgium, and so it easily occupied our country.
- WHY BELGIUM ATTACKED POLAND, A STRONGER COUNTRY?
Well the President gave 2 different official versions about that: there is a Belgian version and an international one.
- WHICH IS THE VERSION GIVEN TO THE BELGIANS?

Shortly: the President said that the war was needed "to spread TWO damage and help our alliance" and that the war could be useful to earn TP medals and increase in rank quicker.
- HOW BELGIUM COULD HAVE HELPED ITS ALLIANCE LOSING A WAR?
Belgium helped its alliance because it had a big defensive shield and Poland had to defeat it. Every point of damage used by Poland to fight against Belgium, couldn't be used by Poland against Belgium's allies.
- WHICH IS THE VERSION GIVEN TO INTERNATIONAL OFFICERS?
Potato134, the Supreme Commander of our alliance (CoT), specifically asked, said that the war was arranged by the Belgian president to fight a political take-over (PTO) going on in Belgium.
Also Polish officials were asked. The Polish president (Magic Hereos) and the Polish prime minister confirmed that the war was arranged with the Belgian president to fight against a political-take over. They also underlined that Poland is willing to give back the regions to Belgium whenever the Belgian president will ask.
- HOW TO FIGHT A PTO WITH A WAR?
As I said before, the war denied Belgium to have congress. Without congress there are no congressmembers. Only congressmembers are allowed by the game to accept immigrants into Belgium. Most PTOers (players who do PTOs) use immigration to increase their numbers: no congressmembers means no immigrants, so PTOers can't increase their numbers in that way.
- WHO CHOOSES CONGRESSMEMBERS?
Congressmembers are chosen by Belgian voters and by Belgian party presidents. With the new political module, voters don't vote the congressmembers directly, but they vote party listst chisen by party presidents. The voters are responsible to choose parties, party presidents are responsible to chose congress candidtaes.
- SO, IF ONLY CONGRESSMEMBERS CAN ACCEPT PTOERS, AND CONGRESSMEMBERS ARE CHOSEN BY PARTY PRESIDENTS, THIS MEANS THAT THERE ARE PTOERS AMONG PARTY PRESIDENTS!
Currently the party presidents of Belgium are: NLSP, Maresal Lengas, Gyantse, Kiyonori Dragnier, CikaNikola96, djole1122, Beaverss Tribute to Raskol, Filipe R12, Director9. None of them as been found to willingly allow PTOers or trolls to enter Belgium.
- DID THE GOVERNMENT FAILED IN GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT THE WAR?
The government gave little information about the war but what it is more serious is that it gave 2 different versions about the reasons of this war.
First, the Belgian population has not been informed properly about the reason why they lost their congress. Among the smallest one, Belgium is probably the country that has had congress elections the most times, the losing of congress is an event of particular impact.
Second, the government implicitily gave the responsibility of the war, and then the occupation, to CoT (our alliance) and to Poland. The President said that the war was started to help CoT draining damage from TWO, which implies that Poland occupied Belgium as if Belgium were an enemy country. Actually the responsibility of the war rests on the Belgian government, CoT and Poland are friends of Belgium and always acted to protect the government and the independence of Belgium.

I strongly support the international version. The original version given to the Belgians sounded WAY too short-sighted, but the international explanation is good for me. Let's be ePL for a while.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that your president told you that it would drain our damage - because if he really did it, he lied. But as we're friends and we were asked to help you - we did it, because it cost us nothing, and we have never expernienced anything bad from Belgium side. Also, if your SC asked you to arrange this war, then it's pethetic from his side, as he made you lose 200g(from congress - 40 congressmen, each 5g) and CoT actually got nothing in exchange(as you could see, Indonesian battles which we were facing then were won).
So, enjoy being one of our colonies, but keep in mind, that if your government asks us to relase you - we will do it 🙂

It has nothing to do with CoT/TWO or any drain damages, that's something you can be sure of.
I don't think anyone ever believed the 2 or 3 eBE fighters would make much of a difference as damage drain, so that couldn't be it. 😉 It's an honour to be part of ePL for a while, and I'm glad we don't have to worry about any PTO these elections.

Thank you for your help in this. We did have reasons not to be totally open about what was happening up to this point. As Jofroi indicates, more will be said about that soon.

Well, even if you believe that all the party presidents are no threat to the country, we do have several congress members who are a potential threat. I'd like to add on top of that that most of the PP have been involved in the decision process and it has not been a unilateral decision made by the government. This solution has been debated over several months as a "ultimate" possibility that already lead to heathen debates in the past.
The PTO has been growing for months/years now and all the other attempts have failed. This is the only possibility left.
And indeed, the government didn't let everyone knows it officially, because we had to make the potentially hostile congressmen vote in favor of the war and not fight the poles too strongly. It was planned to release an official statement about this topic in the near future anyway and the goal was not to hide the true purpose of the war to the eBelgians for longer than required.

It remains a lie towards the population anyway.
You were afraid that hostile congressmen would fight the poles ? But by telling the truth from the beginning, you would also have had real eBelgians fighting on the poles' sides to fit to the government views.
But instead of that, you just make the population feel betrayed (Hum... at least one) and I don't feel like following your next decisions anymore.
I understand the reasons you explain for you choices but I really feel that, in your balance of advantages/disadvantages, you didn't really value the fact of not saying the truth to the population (even if it's just for a while). That is a much bigger disadvantage than your reasons to act the way you did.
The most important thing for a government is being trusted by its people. That's exactly what you've lost with your decisions.
As Jeiry said, gov decided to fight fire with fire, and it will have to face the consequences.
Gov did not acted alone, it was discussed with other persons before be actually done and yeah, things have to be hidden to the population sometimes, but there are things that have to be hidden. Information is power and some people are using it on the wrong way.
That's your point of view. Like you said information is power, and modern democracy's aim is to divide power according to the people's will in the most trustful way possible. Therefor hiding information to Congressmen that are representing the people is undemocratic. You may argue that there's that leak in the game mechanics that may alter the legitimity of CM's to represent, but I still think integrity is an essential democratic value.
The problem in the current case is that we have congressmen who are the threat themselves. If you want to make a RL analogy, it would be the same than releasing in public the information that a terrorist attack that will happen in the coming days has been identified. You an be 99% sure that the terrorists would change their plans afterwards. Here we have the same problem. The difference with RL is that RL you would never have people in congress who would be terrorists.
And the reason for coming out with this truth is? Stirring things up?
PP are easily overthrown, and where does that leave you then?
We did break a track record of being free, unfortunately too many RL Belgians decided in their struggle for power to work together with people who play the PTO aspect of the game, with the only reason being : freedom and a communist like backgorund, which is BS to be honest, maybe for them, but not for the crowd that they got involved.
Sometimes things like this is necessary, sometimes it is necessary for the government to have their plans not widely known. PTO'ers don't play fair so gov did what it needed to be done, a necessary evil
My questions to the eBelgium community and Gov are:

eBelgium deserves to exist but in peace, and not with bad persons who wanted to put troubles.
