Who's On First? (or) A Call For Action

Day 750, 12:01 Published in Israel Israel by Hyman Roth

Ahhh, sweet confusions. On the glorious, not-to-distant day in the future, dear Israel, when you shed your childish dysfunction, I fear I won't recognize you.

As we approach a week since the elections (1/4 of an entire term), we, the citizens of Israel, patiently await an announcement of a Cabinet, a directive, a strategy, or even a wisp of air letting our grand populace know, at the very least, "Your leadership is here ... and we are working for you."

Now I know, I know. Accountability to the people was neither a campaign promise nor on display during the abbreviated time our current administration was in office last term. So perhaps we're grasping in the dark by hoping for anything resembling accountability, communication, or the dreaded transparency in our eGovernment we all pine for.

When last we heard from Zaib and/or Swifty, we read what were shades of campaign promises (the promises WERE in there, if you brushed away the Franz Kafka bashing and dug a bit below the overused "political opportunism' claims). Here, refresh your memories: Zaib and/or Swifty Article.

A great start, as noted above, would be a declaration of the Cabinet. A gracious and motivated Bennychka has taken on the Immigration issue. How much more potent would his efforts be if he were anointed a Ministry? Other than the shaded, secret, significantly-too-important-to-share-wit h-the-public International relations occasionally on display, there's few sign of life from above.

My hopes for communication are tempered. I know full well that this is a game, and that most of those who hold positions of power are buried in responsibilities in RL that demand their attention. Having to clean their rooms, attend to A/V Club tasks, Algebra homework, and trying to figure out why even the moderately popular girl in Health class with the braces and bad posture won't go out with them are RL issues that cannot be understated.

So let's start with the simple task of a Cabinet announcement. Maybe work towards a budget (what? Slow down Hyman!) And perhaps by the end of the term, we can even look for a the promised, functional Government companies and training wars to heal a struggling citizenry. (Now I've gone too far...)

As far as other explanations sought HERE, we all knew they'd never get addressed, but my who knows. Maybe. One day....
