Who's On First? (or) A Call For Action
Hyman Roth
Ahhh, sweet confusions. On the glorious, not-to-distant day in the future, dear Israel, when you shed your childish dysfunction, I fear I won't recognize you.
As we approach a week since the elections (1/4 of an entire term), we, the citizens of Israel, patiently await an announcement of a Cabinet, a directive, a strategy, or even a wisp of air letting our grand populace know, at the very least, "Your leadership is here ... and we are working for you."
Now I know, I know. Accountability to the people was neither a campaign promise nor on display during the abbreviated time our current administration was in office last term. So perhaps we're grasping in the dark by hoping for anything resembling accountability, communication, or the dreaded transparency in our eGovernment we all pine for.
When last we heard from Zaib and/or Swifty, we read what were shades of campaign promises (the promises WERE in there, if you brushed away the Franz Kafka bashing and dug a bit below the overused "political opportunism' claims). Here, refresh your memories: Zaib and/or Swifty Article.
A great start, as noted above, would be a declaration of the Cabinet. A gracious and motivated Bennychka has taken on the Immigration issue. How much more potent would his efforts be if he were anointed a Ministry? Other than the shaded, secret, significantly-too-important-to-share-wit h-the-public International relations occasionally on display, there's few sign of life from above.
My hopes for communication are tempered. I know full well that this is a game, and that most of those who hold positions of power are buried in responsibilities in RL that demand their attention. Having to clean their rooms, attend to A/V Club tasks, Algebra homework, and trying to figure out why even the moderately popular girl in Health class with the braces and bad posture won't go out with them are RL issues that cannot be understated.
So let's start with the simple task of a Cabinet announcement. Maybe work towards a budget (what? Slow down Hyman!) And perhaps by the end of the term, we can even look for a the promised, functional Government companies and training wars to heal a struggling citizenry. (Now I've gone too far...)
As far as other explanations sought HERE, we all knew they'd never get addressed, but my who knows. Maybe. One day....

I'm not sure what's going on IRL for them, but it's quiet as hell here. Lately I've been logging on to see if anyone in our government is alive, seen nothing but a void, and promptly logged off. It's pretty damn boring.
In fact, if this keeps up, not sure how long I'll be sticking around eIsrael. Everything's at a stand still at this point!
I'm thinking the I-word, anybody else?
Elianna, if you leave, I'll be forced to bludgeon myself with a hammer. It would be more fun than being an eIsraeli without you. Do you want that on your conscious?
Zohan, in our collective efforts to draft a Constitution, there's a clause for just that course of action due to inactivity. So perhaps worth, at the very least, a considerate discussion.
Zohan, what does ice cream have to do with eIsraeli government?
@Robbie
Everything is better with ice cream. That's what it has to do with it. I nominate Ice Cream for president.
But, anyway, voted. I always look forward to your articles, Hyman.
Ice Cream in Israel
Ice Cream in the World!
Seriously, though, Hyman I appreciate your article and your work on a Constitution. Is there a draft up at the forums?

You nominate him for president?
Psha.
Don't leave Elianna! If anything, just do what I'm doing and hang out in a foreign country, make some money, and fight until Israel has its stuff together. I'm makin' bank here in Greece, I think I have one of the highest salaries for Skill 4 manufacturing in the eWorld 😎
Voted. It seems that spirited citizens everywhere are trying to get this country moving... but where is the direction and leadership from the top?!
"I'm thinking the I-word, anybody else?"
they have a majority in knesset
so the impeachment will be rejected
haha I'll keep that in mind Hyman. 😛
Zohan, between RL and the admirable but serious lacking in potency (and grammar) of the previous draft of the constitution, it's a bit of work. Drawing from successful, functional documents in existence, we make a small bit of headway each night. Once we have a rough draft, we can begin the process of collective editing, debate, arguing, stalled progress, eventual lack of interest, and voting on approval. Well, hopefully the first two and last on the list.
Should be an interesting process.
impeachment ????
Zaib is eDead but maybe that's just me.
@Aeorner!
Haha! I should have realized there was an actual citizen named "ice cream".
This is a rather serious discussion and as such I feel it only appropriate to clarify one thing. Chocolate or vanilla? 🙂
Whichever flavor guarantees us a 2/3 vote in the Knesset, Leroy 😮
Hes active because he works everyday, but he needs to do something
I vote for Vanilla. With Chocolate swirls. Everybody wins!
Hes actively upset that he has no idea how to run a country :/
Pshaa
Good article. Aeroner sucks.
Seriously though, aside from the two factions and an individuals personal loyalty's to either, WTF is our president doing? What was he doing previously? - Nothing!
Citizens of eIsrael, I beg you to vote for someone else next time... maybe somebody who will actually do something, I haven't even seen Zaib making comments or ANYTHING?!?!
🙂Voted.
MHO, getting "Country President" achievement is honored and funny goal in this game. Myself for president!
:^)
