MooMoohead!
Whilst this will be about as big a shock as this:
I have good reason to believe Moo will run this country excellently, After around a month in the game he became the party president of the IFP, the party wasn't in the best of times but Moo worked long and hard to grow the party and get members involved, it is his work that see's the IFP at 143 members whilst I write this, this is evidence of his leadership and organization qualities.
Some people doubt moo because he is not one of the more active members in the Irish media, I accept this but I feel it necessary to defend his activity and selflessness, Moo works with the average Irishman/woman he is quick to put his hand into his own pocket for a good cause, One of which is a gifting scheme he has orchestrated within the party, and hopefully to the country as a whole if elected.
Lately people have been all too quick to jump on the *partisan politics* bandwagon claiming Moo is going to give ministerial positions to only parties supporting him in the elections, Moo has made it clear several times that this is not the case and that he is merely saying he will be looking into possible IFP/Saoirse candidates more so than was done in the past, just because Moo actually came out and said it instead doing what previous presidents have done and will always do, keeping quiet and handing out ministerial positions to their supporters, Moo is being attacked, which is I find hypocritical and ignorant, IV has recently tried to stop the Coalition between IFP/Saoirse by offering Saoirse members ministerial positions if they should support IV, this shows the hypocrisy of many of Moo's critics.
Overall Moo is a hardworking, intelligent and selfless leader, he has my vote and I feel that he greatly deserves yours

Ministerial positions are by merit, and are conducted by application Dylanb.
Love the picture, I never looked better. I apreciate all the help you and others have given me. A great eFriend.
Well dan if that were so how come I never once even received a response to my applications for ministerial positions? I have applied to quite a few, I see ministers a lot less active and charitable than myself.
A great guy..🙂 he is a guy isnt he?! Best of luck moo, out of all the candidates, moo is the one with the most common sense which is what this sad country needs right now.
Good luck for Moo, he deserves it.
Dylan said : "he is merely saying he will be looking into possible IFP/Saoirse candidates more so than was done in the past"
Moo actually said : "If elected most of the ministers in my government would come from parties that supported me." and that this is would be done "to create real political opposition in this country again."
There's a BIG DIFFERENCE! In his statement he went much further than saying he wanted to focus on finding ministers from within his own ranks. Yes he has more recently confirmed that the most high profile ministers would be appointed on the basis of merit.
However in his "Moomoohead for President article" he said that ministers would be mostly from the partys that support him... which is what sparked the initial revolt against a return to that type of partisan politics. Despite what may be said, recent Presidents haven't had ministers mostly from their own and supporting parties.
This supposedly to be done in an effort to create "real political opposition in this country again".... if that doesn't mean partisan political bickering rather than the rational and reasoned discussion which is favoured by the current President then I'm a cuckoo clock... or some serious political reimagining of what was said is needed and no doubt will come from someone with talent like yourself Dylan.
Having said that he's got alot of fresh ideas in his manifesto and he's brought new life to the political scene..... let's just hope that public pressure continues to soften his initial partisan policy statement on ministerial appointments.
You will see a lot of talent coming from me in the coming weeks sean, I wonder if we can count on you to do something for the country?
Uh, Dylan dear. I must correct you on that one point. I was asking if Saoirse would support me. They had made the deal before I had decided to run. I had wondered if Saoirse members had known this if they would have voted differently. I got my answer.
I wanted to assure them that there would be ministry positions available to those members and that I was not interested in populating my Cabinet with IV/IUP only. If you misunderstood the intent, I apologize. I wasn't there so I don't know how it was presented.
I'm certainly not going to exclude IFP/Saoirse from my cabinet just because they decided not to support me. That wouldn't be in Ireland's best interest. I said there was no hard feelings and I respect the decision that was made. That should be the end of it. So where is the hypocrisy?
It really isn't a deal if I'm going to consider them for ministerial positions anyway. It doesn't make sense. You argument holds no water.
Dylan, you and I have had a contentious relationship at times. It's a good thing you are a damn good Mentor otherwise, I wouldn't be so nice to you right now. You do take care of our babies and for that reason I am not upset with you. 🙂 I have really enjoyed working with you this term. It's been quite pleasant.
BUT keep going on this tangent and I will be very unhappy. Understand?
@Edana I wasn't using the term hypocracy directly at you I was using it at people who tried to denied that presidents do and will always have a party bias when it come to choosing ministers.
@Ah, I thought was the case, but I wanted to make sure it was perfectly clear. 🙂 I'm glad we had this talk.
ouch Dylan.... my compliment is rebuffed with a subtle insult! Ah sure that's why you're so loveable..... and yet you still haven't got most likeable rogue.... even with me voting for ya everytime.
I would happily take up a position if I was felt to be suitably qualified.... I'm not in IFP... tho I may move there if Moos elected 😛
I stepped in as MoFA before as a temporary measure putting in some of the initial enquiries about joining the Sol wargames around the time Poland invaded Lithuania. I've been elected TD 4 times. I've been an XO and now a proud CO of the Dublin Fusiliers who successfully toured the world (well parts of it) recently.... also worked with Digits on the (now defunct) divisional damage spreadsheets.
So I'm pretty sure you can count on me to do something for the country..... since I have no party political distractions.
Now.... care to comment on why your statement of what Moo said was inaccurate?
@Bryan O'Shea: Well said, completely agree, Ireland needs Moo.
Vote Moo!
