Who could be the one to save us?

Day 2,083, 17:25 Published in Canada Greece by Rolo Tahmasee

Who, from eCanada's past, if they could be brought back to the game, or could be brought back to giving a crap (assuming they still play) could save eCanada?

Both in game (return to map/relevancy) and out of game (IRC/Forum Activity)

and why?

or is this now an impossible task for anyone?

improbable under the current global circumstances. Always hope though.

Why does it have to be somebody from eCanada's past? We've got lots of good people, new or old, that are willing to do their best for eCanada in these tough times.

Maybe we should stop looking to our past for help, and start looking toward our future.

Honestly, Tyrael Snow. He created a strong following quicker than anyone else I know of. I've never seen a party rise out of nowhere faster or stronger than his. I don't know if he would be able to save eCanada, but he seems like the best bet.

There are of course, others that would be great to have back, and might have a chance of saving us... Nosyt, Plugson, Jacobi, to name a few, but this is a list that could go on for a long time. And I'd be happy to have any of them back.

Tyrael Snow was Rylde without the charisma. He could do nothing to get us back on the map.

Plugson and Nosyt, while great support pieces couldn't or wouldn't lead a battle charge.

Funky's useless on every level.

Sperry was a politician, his second term showed how he dealt with adversity when he walked away. He could not lead us from darkness.

Special props go to Cozza for the Cottus reference. That predates me and there's few balls that are older than mine these days.

Adam Sutler, while historically great, would need us to liberate Nunavut again before he had a chance at a second Nave's Toe.

The only person mentioned above who would of stood a chance of getting us back on the map was TFD. The Cult of Personality that has developed since his death aside his ability to organize and make contacts was on a level I have not seen since in this game. He built the Bro-lliance single handed, and routinely wrote articles that came close to reaching the global top 5 in an era BEFORE vote buying. Something no other eCanadian has been able to accomplish.

Forums and IRC are a completely different conversation. They tend to see high levels of activity when there's a catalyst. My months as Speaker for instance saw huge jumps in the number of posts/debates/votes because I was seen as a villain and the other parties responded by flocking to the forums, which in turn increased IRC activity.

To add to the list of names: Acacia Mason and Temujin BC, perhaps?

Based on the comments, the essence of community is not completely lost.

As for the country itself, IMO it's based on the environment which relies more on other administrations than our own since eCanada quantitatively does not have the rankings of a superpower or a tide-turner. Albeit a truly phenomenal leader would be able to manipulate the external environment in addition to managing the internal for our favour.
