Official White House Press Release (#8
😎: Bros Are Freaking Awesome
April 7, 2010, Day 869 of the New World.
The contents of this White House Press Release are:
1. Continued Bromances With Ireland and Greece
2. Win 20 Gold From Department of Interior Contest
Continued Bromances With Ireland and Greece
Earlier today, alliances were proposed with Greece and Ireland, two of our favorite bromances. We think they're cool and so should you. The continuation of these alliances will be very beneficial in the future. Ireland is in the Brolliance on a trial basis, and Greece is just p awesome.
At the same time, UK Prime Minister GLaDOS continues to make overtures of war to Ireland because of the supposed betrayal of Ireland by joining the Brolliance. We are in full support of Ireland and all our other Bros.
On the same subject, the US condemns the UK's attack on PTO-ed Norway earlier today. We wish the best for Norway and encourage anyone who would like to help to move to Norway and fight.
Win 20 Gold From Department of Interior Contest
Secretary of the Interior Maxx Johnson announced a new program earlier today to get more people into Karnataka. You can win 20 gold and be reimbursed for ticket costs if you can recruit the most people to move to Karnataka. You need to provide screenshots for each person that moves: one before the person moves to Karnataka, and one after. Participants have until the 18th to get contestants to move but can submit their screenshots until the 21st. Before then, you must fill out this form. The winner's ticket costs will be reimbursed by checks made on your donation list.

Hail eUS!
"On the same subject, the US condemns the UK's attack on PTO-ed Norway earlier today."
Moreover, the US must ask to the UN members for approval of some economic measures against the UK.

DIO IS A BRO
Really not trying to be trolling. But isn't this bromance mascot gay? Ie, brothership + romance, like best pals would get involved in a love affair.
I am not even sure what gender the countries have in english? Is USA a she or a he? And what about Greece or Ireland? Is it uniform or different for different countries? Pity that my english is rather crappy. Could some native speaker enlighten me please?
@Xavinyo Bromance is an I guess american term I'm pretty sure. Its not Bros being romantic together its just a bond between bros in a non homosexual way.
@Xavinyo
>But isn't this bromance mascot gay?
Yes and that's part of the amusement.
Gender doesn't play a huge role in country identification in English. America is probably femanine (see: Columbia) but can also be masculine (see: Uncle Sam).
@Xavinyo
". But isn't this bromance mascot gay? Ie, brothership + romance, like best pals would get involved in a love affair."
You should see the Delaware articles by Jbdivinus and Emerick lol.
As publius said, in English, most nouns don't come with a gender. What gender nouns get is usually attributed to them by personifications of important objects like how a captain might call his ship a "her" and name it after a woman. As far as countries go--and as publius implied--gender could be based on where the reference is coming from and in what way the country is being personified.
Publius references Columbia, and Uncle Sam. I can add the song "God Bless America" where God is asked bless America and guide "her"
Thank you very much for the grammar lectures! I always tought that each country has a definite gender in english, but the ship example made me to understand how it works. :>
@Aurelius Ambrosius I will check on those articles, thanks for the reference.
"We think they're cool and so should you. "
