When life gives you Lemons

Day 2,311, 01:17 Published in Australia Chile by Lupurus

You go down to your local bottl-o ( boozatorium ) and purchase the necessary amount of vodka, tequila, mint and anything else that you might need to turn all those lemons into some tasty refreshing beverages.

Or if you're lazy ( like me ) you just get a couple ( 3+ ) cases of Corona.

In all seriousness though, I love lemons so I never really got the negative aspect of that saying.

I'f you happen to be one of the folks silly enough ( you poor things ) that have read my previous articles, you'd know that there's an awful lot of maths, and ordering of things to make the most of what little eRep gives you to begin with.

Well, as much as I enjoy planning and figuring out how to optimise things ( again, too much Starcraft and AoE ) I'm not a particularly parient sort of chap.

As you well know, Chille basically forced us to take back NT and SA purely so that the Macedonians could drop in and take those, as well as Tasmania.

Our generosity knows no bounds.

2nd paragraph .. -.-'

Anyway, politics aside, I took this as my personal bag of lemons ( c/o Chille/Aurora ). Since they were having a sale, I decided to go down to my local boozatorium ( the cash shop ( couldn't think of a funny name *shrug* ) ) and decided to make a donation to the almighty Plato.

The $154.36 for 450 Gold has definitely made a huge impact on my current finances, and even helped me in game a little.

I am currently the proud owner of :

3x Food Factory lvl 2 ( bought from eAustralians )
1x Weapons Factory lvl 2 ( bought from an eAustralian )

2x Fishery
2x Hunting Lodge

6x Aluminium Mine
8x Rubber Plantation

1x Large Storage

Personally I think this is very cool, and leaves me well on the way to complete self sufficiency and eventually being able to help and make a noticeable impact in eAustralia.

Yes, I know that the most efficeint thing to do would have been to stick to lvl 1 Food Factories and only bought the 10 Gold Fisheries and Aluminium Mines, I just happen to think that this all 'looks' tidier, is all..

I won't bore you with all of the math, just the basic outlines of it all:

It costs me 250 Energy ( including working and training ) and about $6 in tax and 0.19 Gold all up.

I generate 1200 Energy, 10 lvl 2 Weaps and 2550 WRM ( $127.5 if sold at $0.05 for fast sale ).

Yes, I also plan on keeping that lvl 1 Weapons Factory that's floating around to help people complete that quest/mission/thinggie ( that's if its still happening, I think the 10 days between sales should be up fairly soon ? ), and upgrading it to lvl 2.

Basically from here on out, I'll only spend gold on Upgrades, Hunting Lodges and Rubber Plantations, upgrading only during the sales.

I've now got enough income to generate a significant amount of gold ( compared to what I was getting before ), and am in a position where I feel I can at least contribute enough to make a difference ( yes, I know every point of damage makes a difference, it's just how I feel is all >.> ).

So. I've had my lemons. I've made my Purchase. I've mixed my metaphors.

Time to sit back, take a sip, chew bubblegum and kick ass.

Unfortunately the closest thing to gum I have is Rubber from my Plantations, and that stuff's just nasty.. and to be honest, I'm pretty sure I'll just hurt myself if I try to kick anyone in this game.

I guess I'll just have to keep being a wee lil' lemming and hoping that the guy up front doesn't run out of bricks.

IMPORTANT: This is all my own opinion, and basically stating the bleedin' obvious. Spending money on a game that is inherently designed to give the advantage to credit card warriors is of course going to make me stronger and grow faster than those who dont. I am in no way shape or form trying to pressure anyone into spending theirs, or anyone else's money ( well, maybe your parents money if they're loaded ).

This article was composed purely to show folks what is possible if you are willing ( and able ) to give your money away to boost your standing in a fictional environment.

Also: No, I did not spend money on this game JUST so I could write this article. I made my purchase, then thought about writing this up, seeing how I hadn't written anything for a while.

I'm not that Magnanimous.

p.s. it's kind of ironic that the lack of publications in eAustralia has led me to find out so much about other eCountries. It's also a little saddening. You folks ( anyone who reads this - i command thee !! ) should be getting right on to fixing that ..

p.p.s. yes, i also realise that i could have gotten much more space by spending loyalty points on storage upgrades instead of gold. i didnt know about loyalty points then. i do now, and i have.

p.p.p.s. yay, slightly less math ?

p.p.p.p.s. i'm pretty sure i hadn't mixed my metaphors at that point, it's just something that sounded good in my head at the time.

p.p.p.p.p.s. walter disney was a monster, but the game was kinda cool - again something that just sounded good at the time.

p.p.p.p.p.p.s. bonus points for using the word magnanimous ?

p.p.p.p.p.p.p.s. how many posts could a post script post if a post script could post scripts?
