What We Learned From the Concise History of eNorth Korea

Day 783, 21:53 Published in Japan South Korea by Adavek

First of all, I would like to thank Dubster for his article A Concise History of North Korea . It was very interesting, as were interesting some of the comments to the article. I encourage all eJapanese and eSouth Korean citizens to read it and ponder about it.

The above article lists a timeline of events for eNorth Korea. I will use it as a springboard for my reflections on the psychology of what is now the ruling class of eJapan and a large part of its citizenship. I will also explain it to talk about some of the events in the recent history of eJapan, and shed some light on the future of eJapan.

First of all, we need to fill in some gaps in the article.

1)Geopolitical eNorth Korea. eNK is bordered by eRussia to the North, eChina (previously eIran) to the West, and eSouth Korea (previously eJapan) to the South. It borders Liaoning which used to be the gem of the eIranian empire, and their most valuable resource region. It borders Far Eastern Russia, a very valuable eRussian region both for resources and strategically. And it's just a few steps away from Heilongjang, the gem of the eHungarian empire.
Knowing this, it should come as no surprise that eRussia, eHungary, and eIran all had great interest in controlling eNK and making sure that it would have a government that would not be viewed as a threat to their interests in the region.

2)Resources of eNK. eNK is not wealthy. Its most valuable region is medium iron. While attractive, it is not in the league of some of the regions that can make or break enations. However, the attractiveness of the region coupled by the small population and army of eNK should not be ignored.

3)Population of eNK. The greatest number of players of eNK are RL americans. English is the national language and is used in all publications.

4)Political landscape of eNK – while eNK had more than one party running in the elections, outside of the PTOs the political landscape was dominated by City Party and City Party Lite. The other parties were mostly a source of amusement and always a minority. The members of FoH were the ruling class of eNorth Korea, and dictated its economic, diplomatic, and military policy with no real internal opposition.

I asked, and am still waiting for an answer, why did eNK not try to get along with PHOENIX in spite of all the robberies and PTOs? I was told by Daeish, whom in spite of our disagreements I respect as someone who is straightforward “Oh for crying out loud, do you actually mean that? Someone tries to steal all our money, tried to PTO us, and your response is "You should try to get along with them...Perhaps we should have given them all big hugs too.”

Here is the problem – the geopolitical situation of eNK, which cannot be changed. It seems therefore that the solution sought by the residents of eNK is to destroy PHOENIX, and thereby solve the problem of their “bad neighbors.” "If you can't get along with them, destroy them." Since eNKers know that they cannot accomplish this alone, they joined forces with eUSA and EDEN, natural allies given the converging interests and the similarity in socio-cultural backgrounds and language.

Unfortunately, eNK underestimated the power and tenacity of PHOENIX, and so we must fast forward to the exodus of eNKers to eJapan. The plan is simple – use eJapan to rebuild, take control of eJapan to have a base of operations and a safe haven for every time eNorth Korea fails, and use the country as a playground to enjoy the eRepublik game. Dissatisfied with the fact that eJapan was traditionally allied with PEACE nations, a plan is carried out to engage in negotiations with eUSA and EDEN while acting in the way that hopefully will deal the greatest damage to PHOENIX (the famous Kyushu deceit). The goal is to assist eUSA and EDEN to destroy PHOENIX's strongholds in eAsia, and weaken PHOENIX, thereby allowing the rebirth of eNorth Korea, the strengthening of eChina, and thereby establishing eJapan as a solid ally of eUSA and EDEN. in the eNK view of the eworld, neutrality is not an option -- it's "us vs PHOENIX" for the reasons explained in Dubster's article and above.

The problem is twofol😛 1) This plan assumes that EDEN will be able to win the war against PHOENIX and 2) This plan ignores the will of a large percentage of eJapanese, pacifists, neutral players, and the past and culture of eJapan pre-eNK influx.

Godzilla Party, FoH, and many gamers correctly point out that eJapan is “better” now than it ever was before. I beg to differ. eJapan is certainly different now, not necessarily better. It is also a very divided culture now, with an increasingly angry discourse. It is a place where one's voice is drowned by the incessant and well organized chorus of the Godzilla Party gospel. If you are looking for a gentler discourse, or a different point of view, expect to be drowned in mud.

Finally, I leave our friends from eSouth Korea with a warning -- you are about to start your enation, freed from the shackles of Theocracy. In all likelihood you too will soon feel the pressure to conform with your natural neighbors, eJapan and the soon to be reborn eNorth Korea.
