What's the Story with eHECS?

Day 2,616, 10:04 Published in Australia Australia by eAus Department of Information

Most of us know HECS as the RL Australian Higher Education Contribution Scheme. It combines grants with loans that must be repaid, to help Aussie university students delay the cost of their education until they graduate and get a real job.

The eAust eHECS scheme is better: It is solely a one–off grant for eAustralian citizens at Levels 20 to 35. It is FREE GOLD and DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PAID BACK. While the intent is to help with the development of new players, e.g. assist with training ground upgrades, the gold may be used for whatever purpose the recipient feels is most necessary.

A limited number of HECS grants were available by application (which translates to “PM”) to Rusty D, our eAus CP (who pays for this initiative from his own pocket, NOT from your taxes). The grants are 5 gold each.

As the newbie in the eAustralian Ministry of Education and Entertainment, I have the pleasure of administering this initiative, with technical assistance from pr3zzyy. Six grants per month are now available to qualified citizens, so PM JackTrout to apply. Remember, eHECS grants are limited in number, so don’t delay.

UPDATE: 25 Q4 food has been awarded to Zenon Ebert for his excellent question about the JDS. His query was answered here (look for more JDS info soon!):

Please feel free to PM JackTrout with story ideas or things you’d like to know more about. I will be happy to find someone who knows the answers and get back to you! Cheers, JT
