What is it all about?

What is it all about? Why are you playing this game? What is eRepublik all about for you?

But before all you answer it would be only fair if I'd answer first. So,what is all about for me? Tricky question... I know that for some it's all about the gold they sell in RL,all about the RL meetings,all about making friends,all about earning a lot of shiny medals,all about the military strategies or who knows? But for me it's easier to say what is not all about. I am not in it for the friends. I've been playing this game for just over an year,but I have never been to a meeting.

Of course,one can argue that there are three types of friends :
1. friends-friends [the persons that know intimate details about you,seen you in your worst moments and still like being around you]
2. work friends [ your co-workers,the persons you spend time with at work but don't hang out with them after work hours ]
3.social friends [social friends are the persons you have on your FB which you haven't seen in ages but you comment on their wall/profile. Also,in this category you can include the persons you meet on eR related chats and talk to almost on a daily basis. In this case, I must admit that these so called social friends play an important role in me still playing this game and I am sure that others feel the same.]

But for me it is not all about the RL meetings,all about making friends,all about earning a lot of shiny medals,all about the military strategies. For me it's all about hope.

I feel that this is our chance to answer that call.This and here is our moment.If there is still someone that doubts that eRepublik is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders whether humanity is made up out of mainly mean, vile, selfish people; who still question the power of humanity, this article is your answer.

It's the answer represented by young and old, rich or poor, EDEN or Phoenix, military or foreign affairs person - human beings who can send,sent and will continue sending a message to the (e)World that we can be more than players in a game,that we can befriend, that we can trust and respect one other. We can respect our enemy for its unexpected moves. We need not to resort to ugly words to express our dissapproval,we can talk calmly to express our dissatisfaction.

That's what eRepublik is all about for me! IT'S ALL ABOUT HOPE! I trust that those that play this game are encourage by the idea of a second life, a second chance and behave. They never not even for second forget that even thought it's just a game they interact with human beings and that mean things can affect them even though it's just a game. I hope that better times will come and those who said harsh things today,tomorrow won't. For this is the true genius of ERepublik - that eRepublik can change. The human part of this games - yes,we,the players - can be perfected and by doing so we change eRepublik. And what we have already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.
