What is going on in Europe?

Well, quite a lot. It all started with Atlantis falling apart, when the Swedes wanted a(nother) revenge on the Germans, besides having fun, high grain (which they did not have) and maybe a border with Italy, France, Netherlands for future plans - for the European core of Atlantis, namely Romania, Sweden, Spain, Poland and Croatia are still acting very much together, and now not even a useless alliance-treaty is binding their hands. So the Swedes wanted a piece of Germany, and so did the Poles, from whom Hungary had taken the Ukrainian high grain region as well as the possibility to act on the eastern European front. So together, with sporadic help from the former allies they in concert attacked and devoured Germany in a matter of days. The conquest was helped by the Swedish presidential TO of Germany, which I must admit was the only truly unexpected move in the whole operation.

So it was all done rather fast, and eventually Germany disappeared from the map, thereby annulling all its wars and alliances. Germany as was expected turned again towards PEACE (whom it had betrayed rather spectacularly before), and because it suited strategic interests, PEACE decided to take matters in hand - Sweden and Poland split the former German regions in such a way that both could possibly threaten Italy and France as well. So in the operation 'enduring pig' (later renamed namless operation, because admins found that name insulting) Hungary, Italy and Austria exchanged some regions so Hungary got a border with, so could attack Sweden; while Italy declared war to Poland, and France to Sweden - and together they started to pummell these two in some formerly German regions - meaning that no MPPs came into play.

The obvious answer from Sweden and Poland was to RW some German regions, thereby closing the way of PEACE forces to other occupied regions - this made for example the Rhineland-Palatine RW so important that PEACE was fighting in the green - Swedish side, defending it from become again Germany. It was successful, so the allied forces could go on - Italy with the help of Theocracy, France with the help of Netherlands and both with help from Indonesia; and Hungary on its own, winning rather surely against a not defending Swedes. Then as Germany again existed it had declared war to France, and attacked Lorraine to activate France's MPP-s, and the German president retreated from a previously RW-d region, so that Hungary could attack Brandenburg, where Poland has put hospital and defence system too, and intending to defend it at all costs - this being not only the high grain region, but their prize win too, higly symbolical from RL history. This battle is still going on.

And so this is where we are now, Hungary occupying Hesse, Saxony, Upper Austria and soon Brandenburg; Italy conquered Bavaria and Baden-Wurtenberg and soon Thuringia; and France had fun taking Rhineland-Palatine region and trying now in North Rhine-Westphalia, while Germany atm is consisting of only Saarland. What can the near future bring? As a private citizen, I can only speculate, but surely PEACE wants to retake the former German regions, including the two that were so important for Sweden and Poland - Brandenburg is looking a goer for the Poles, while Schleswig-Holstein is a matter of days to be attacked - if that is PEACE's plan. What happens afterwards is not so clear - maybe Germany gets back some regions or maybe the allies keep the strategical ones for a while who knows - it is complicated by the Polish getting a baby-boom, which in a month can make them a real force in Europe, while Germany is still weak and so these must be considered in the plans.
