What is EDEN Doing?

Day 853, 12:59 Published in USA USA by PigInZen

It's been quite an eventful couple of weeks, hasn't it? We're all very aware of the outcry that occurred when the eUS decided to partake in an RW in Sindh, Pakistan as opposed to committing all of our mobile military damage in Europe. Well, now the shoe's on the other foot. Last night the eUS assisted South Africa in an attempt to get that country back on the map before the Congressional elections on the 25th. The second battle in Limpopo went into overtime but unfortunately wasn't won.

The ramifications of this loss will be very pronounced - South Africa now has little chance to avoid open citizenship for the next month which will surely relegate it to permanent PTO status as both EDEN and Phoenix members flood citizens into South Africa. The effect will be long lasting as it's nearly impossible to get rid of unwanted citizenships once they're obtained. This means for a small country such as South Africa they will no longer be able to govern themselves. Worst of all, South Africa has a wealth of high resources, including three high diamond regions, one third of all found in the eRep world that are slated to become high titanium regions when the V2 rollout occurs. South Africa is also the gateway to Australia.

What we're facing now is the permanent loss of a vital country, one with very important resources for the future. The eUS military contributed over 1.3 million points in damage. There were contributions from other EDEN members but what I noticed was just how little actual damage was contributed despite the official EDEN orders stating for all mobile units to fight in Limpopo.

Look, I don't want to create a huge dustup over this. But there's a palatable disconnect occurring within EDEN. In the eyes of the US and Australia EDEN has become too focused on issues within Europe to the detriment of joint interests elsewhere. If South Africa's three diamond (titanium to be, remember) regions are not incentive enough to get us rolling in unison I don't know what will be. The last time differences in battle damage occurred the eUS media was trolled for days by our allies in EDEN. I don't see the eUS citizens doing the same despite having a pretty damn good reason to do so in my opinion.

I apologized for Sindh and the effect it had. How many fellow EDEN leaders are going to step up to the plate and do the same for South Africa? I'm genuinely curious about this since I see criticism in EDEN being a one-way street: towards the eUS and no one else. Anytime the eUS brings up a legitimate complaint about EDEN strategic focus and the lack of member commitment to concerns external to Europe two things happen: first, the US is reminded of all of it's previous transgressions which isn't a legitimate complaint - remember two wrongs don't make a right - and then our concerns are ignored.

The message is clear: either EDEN gets its act together and all members start coordinating as is my goal or EDEN isn't going to be sticking around much longer as member nations start seeking their own individual goals.

I wish there was more to say. Unfortunately, US opinion towards EDEN is souring at this point and I don't think there will be much I can personally do to counter that especially when I am confronted by such a stark and plain fact as the South Africa situation and the battles in Limpopo specifically.
