What Good Presidents Need

Day 1,961, 19:29 Published in USA USA by Mungo Monroe

This is my entry for the writing competition.

What qualities make up a good leader? There are literally thousands you could list, but which one is the best? Honesty? Chivalry? Well, yes these are all important in real life and eRepublik politics, but to me at least, there is one greater among them all.

For our President, this trait is and always has been cooperation. Look, you can be the most charming, honest, kind paragon of good, but if you refuse to work with half of Congress, it simply isn't worth a damn. Whether you're a Fed or an AFA, you have to work together. We literally cannot get anything done otherwise.

Feds, not everyone in the AFA are PTOers. Many actually want to work to the better of the nation. I would know, I used to be one.

And to those in the AFA, the Feds are the same. They aren't just a bunch of reduced caricatures.

Honestly, I suppose it's just a lack of any dialogue between political parties that isn't pointless arguing. Both sides have flaw, some more apparent than others, but both have people who genuinely care for the nation. I can easily see that. We can't block each others' moves just because we don't like the other side! Many of the internal troubles this nation faced were a result of spite from political opponents. If our Presidents and Congressmen could just work together, many of these would vanish altogether. We have to move this nation forward, together for the benefit of the thousands of citizens. It's time to stop the arguing, the impeachment attempts, the hours of nonsense coming from both sides.

Whoever the next President is, I want him or her to be able to cooperate. But hey, I'm just an eBaby, what do I know?
