What exactly IS Unity?!?!?!

Day 2,010, 19:29 Published in USA USA by Catri Athena

I've only been playing this game for a couple of months. I haven’t totally immersed myself in the politics side of things, it’s true. However, shouldn't I know, by now, exactly what Unity is?

Really. What is it? I've obviously heard of Unity. I mean, how can you not? Every election, there is some reference to it. However, no one has really explained it.

The only thing I really know about Unity is that it was formed to piss off RGR. Sorry, to prevent RGR, and his cronies, from ever attaining the one goal he wants. POTUS. There’s more to it than that, I’m sure. Something about a threat from being PTO’d or something like that, I think. The details are kind of fuzzy. Everyone seems to know it’s bad, but for us new players, we don’t really know why.

From what I've gathered, Unity was created to protect the U.S. from being PTO’d from the Big, Bad Serbians. Who, it seems, are being helped by RGR. If he is elected POTUS, he’ll let them come in and take over the U.S. That is why it was created, right?

Obviously, a coup from inside our government would be bad. However, it seems kind of silly for everyone else to join together and fight off one guy. I mean, he’s already stated that he’s been trying to get elected for four years. Has Unity been around that long?!?!?! If not, why exactly was it created? If he didn’t get elected before Unity was created, what made him such a huge threat that it had to be created in the first place?

Apparently, we need to stop him, though he seems to be doing a pretty good job himself. We’re told to go to an irc room and ask who we should vote for, when elections come around. Do we REALLY need to have to be told who to vote for? Okay, it helped with USWP. I’m still not sure what happened there. Someone trying to take over the party, I think, though I’m not sure why.

I know this whole Unity thing seems like common sense to most people. I’m sure those few people who read this will be more than happy to let me know exactly what Unity is and why it exists. For fairly new players like me, though, it’s not an answer that can be followed by “ duh”. For me, it’s like coming in at the tail end of a conversation and trying to catch just enough tidbits to figure out exactly what’s going on. The only thing that does is cause confusion and chaos. Though, now that I think about it, I kinda do like chaos...
