What exactly has the DAL been up to anyway?

Day 652, 10:49 Published in Canada Canada by Democratic Action League
Well let me tell you!

In the time since the DAL has been remade ingame, quite a bit has been going on. Here i would like to talk about a few of our most recent activities, as well as a few other issues, and lastly, our presidential candidate for this election.

With all the changes that have been going on in Canada and the eWorld, we have realized that the DAL Platform is very much outdated and irrelevant. Therefor the DAL has started a party-wide discussion and reevaluation of our platform. If you are a DALer interested in getting involved, head over to www.feudalist.forumotion.com. We have an entire section devoted to this project, and anyone is encouraged to get involved and voice their opinions!

Another interesting activity recently taking place on the DAL forums is a little event we like to call Forum Day, or Forumfest. This event which we have decide will be held every month, was the brainchild of a few DAL members including myself, who, while talking on IRC, observed the many structural and functional flaws of our forums, and had the idea to tackle them all at once in a massive event which became known as Forumfest. In the following days, DALers proposed over a dozen changes to our forums, all of which were discussed, voted on in typical DAL democratic fashion, and if approved by the members, implemented. Forumfest is drawing to a close now, with all but one discussion ended, and only a few ideas left to be put into practice, but i think all DALers who took part can agree that it was both a productive and fun time.

Now onto something less fun before we get to the main event here, our presidential nominee. Recently octavian_f, a DAL member of congress, released an article which offended many people, including multiple German-Canadian citizens, and disparaged many hard working government officials, and private citizens. octavian's views and comments do NOT represent the DAL or its membership, and we condemn any offensive comments made by him. The DAL is a tolerant party, and a civil party, and does not stand for this behavior.

And now for the main event!

It is my great pleasure to announce that our presidential nominee(s) for this upcoming election are none other then the awesome William Duncan and Derek Harland!

A bit of a background on both candidates,

Derek Harland is a DALer who has been with the party since he was a young player, and has grown into a successful congressmen, leader within the party, and most recently Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs. As Vice President of the DAL he worked tirelessly for the party, and ran the successful DAL Charity for new players. He holds the record for most votes of any congressmen during a congressional election and as MoFA has been widely successful, doing such things as revamping our ambassador program. He is running as William Duncan's vice president but as their platform will tell you, his role would be much greater then that of an average VP.

William Duncan is an active member of the Canadian Paradox Party who has served in government as one of our most active Minister of Communications and most recently Deputy Prime Minister. Throughout his political career, he has shown a knack for the system and his activity and commitment has earned him great respect from his colleagues. He and Derek Harland have worked tirelessly to create a comprehensive platform and the DAL is confident that this dynamic team will be a great choice to lead our government.

The DAL would like to thank Jacobi for his months of service, and deeply appreciates his work during one of the most trying times in Canadian history, but it is our belief that now is time for a change, and William and Derek are the right people for that change. When they brought their presentation to us, it received a very positive reaction, and i think you will be very impressed when it is released publicly. I will not discuss their policies and ideas here, as i am not the candidate and it is not my place, but i will say that what they bring to the table is fresh and exciting and that is why the DAL has chosen them to be our candidates.

Good luck to everyone this election and long live Canada!
Scorpius, President of the Democratic Action League
