The Thinker ponders eRepublik and its changes

As we move into another new phase of eRepublik: The New World, Rising: V2.0, nostalgia V1.0 + Happiness - Happiness, a citizen might wonder what is the point of playing this game anymore. I haven't seen this much change since Obama.

All this direction and no end in sight! What mockery is this?

Recent, and frequent, updates in the game have appeased very few while most have rage-quit altogether. New or old its affected both types of players. Why is this game still fun to play? What can we expect in the coming months? How do I keep myself entertained?

Well, I've tested the open market of fun and not fun and here is what I've found that keeps me playing:

Trolling

Haters gonna hate

Very often new players, or players that are not very vocal in their beginnings, start taking the game too seriously. Whether its with the game and its creators itself, or the tl;dr tirades trying to pick an online fight with other citizens, it has become an appealing trend for many players to 'troll' each other. Some people are just so eccentric that it makes them incredibly easy to troll. A person wonders if these people ever see the light of day.

Indoor glasses are the rage

There are some very superb citizens who are masterful at trolling and they deserve more recognition.

Other citizens (Ostin versions 1, 2, 3, reborn, reborn again, etc.) just make me lol at their attempts.

Frankly, it is quite sad, but at the same time it is sad they are gone.

He has grown so small over the past year he is but a mere speck on a news article now.

But overall, if there is one new thing in this game that has continued keeping this game alive it is the diversity in trolling and the lulz that follow.

Politics

Another avenue that makes this game enjoyable are the in-game / irc politics. To be honest, its a beast. If you ever wondered what it would be like to where that Congress medal then prepare yourself for a helluva ride.

You'll laugh, you'll cry

Its a fierce competition between what is right for the country, what you conceive is right for the country, and what is DEFINITELY right for the country. All the points of views between the top 5 US parties is what makes it so diverse and at the same time a beautiful cohesive structure that keeps a nation safe from foreign take over. However, it is politics. At any given time be ready to be thrown under the bus because its a dog eat dog environment.

However if it still interests you in meeting a plethora of new people and a different aspect of the game all you have to do is join one of these parties and the mudslinging begins 🙂

Military

While you're sitting around trolling or playing a political gambit you also might as well give the military a shot. If there is one defining feature of an in-game unification that often alters the outcomes of battles, its the men and women of the eMilitary. They are the ones who have prestigious claim over that attribute.

Also, it opens up very fast avenues in taking a leadership role and gives you the ability to flex your autonomous muscles 😃

Although it is brand new to me at this point in the game it has become an incredibly interesting epoch of ideas, love and belief in a supernatural state of existence in the eWorld.

I think Admin is finally listening to the players, at least to an extent. We should all enjoy this victory - we worked hard for it. But the cheating and poor sportsmanship haven't abated. Honest confrontation is interesting and can be fun - facing multi-hoards and being overpowered, then having tickets ignored is another. Cheaters are a huge issue still. I hope that can become a true focus in the near future so the game can be fun again for all players.

I know, right? Cost only 2 gold as opposed to raping 10 gold for 100,000 impressions and only 4 actual clicks.

Somehow admin will find a way to counter org votes for news articles because they receive less gold in the process. They've figured out a way to destroy the MM...next will be media.

for me its the community, and not just on a national scale but wider.
the game itself...emmm im not sure. i just dont have the same interest to play it as i had when i was first starting. im not sure its all admins' fault, but sure as hell a lot of it falls on them : )
