Western Australia - An idea
CrowdedHouse
Good Afternoon my fellow eAussies.
Once again the situation of Western Australia has been raised.
The usually arguments and points have come up...
- We an agreement in place to buy back WA
- We don't have enough money to buy all the WA companies
- We don't have the population to staff the companies
- We can't start a war as we will be wiped out
Last night in bed, I had an idea.
An idea that could keep us 'Neutral', form partnerships with other 'Neutral' nations, grow our economy, grow our population and give us a better defence.
The idea is for FOREIGN INVESTMENT in Western Australia.
How's this for an example (and only an example, things can be changed).
Say eAustralia can only afford to buy a 3rd of the WA companies... we team up with Independent Nations eSouth Africa and eIreland to buy all the WA Companies.
Because eSouth Africa and eIreland have an 'investment' in these companies, they would be encouraging some citizens to move to eAustralia and work for these companies.
These people would NOT be citizens of eAustralia - they in a sense would be here on a working visa.
Let me spin in this way.
An eIreland citizen moves to eAustralia.
He works in WA for a company, were a third of it's profits are going back to his home country.
While in WA, he can take part in War Games, thus building up his rankings.
If WA is attacked, it's in his and his country's interest to help eAustralia defend WA as they have an investment to protect.
For eAustralia this is good, because we will have companies that will be performing well.
You may argue that we will only get 1/3 of the profits... but we will also be making money via taxes.
Plus we will have enough people there to help build a good defence.
Other Nations will then want to protect us, because they have an investment with us... if we lose a war it will be bad for them financially, so of course they will throw some power behind us.
That's just an idea of mine.

I'm running for Congress in October
and Prime Minister in November.

i nice idea how will you go about getting it done though?
good idea
I like the idea. Let's keep this discussion going!
Your brilliance never seems to amaze me.
Tim, I believe our Minister of Finance, should have a group IRC discussion with other neutral MoF and see if there is any interest?
have you spoken to eIreland or eSouth Africa? Have they agreed?
😨
Sure, They may accept it, Though what if the plan fails? 😛
Nice idea btw 😉
@Crowdedhouse
Id say include the Minister of Foreign Affairs too 😉
i like the idea, we must grow as nation and anyway we can do that and get back WA without war is a good option...
good idea would it work tho
I think this is the MOST credible plan to take back WA so far.
Well done. Voted and Subscribed.
@CookieAU - As I said (and I wish some people would read) it's an EXAMPLE! Just thought of the idea last night. We might invite 1 country, we might invite 10 countries to help. Who they are, no idea yet.
Just floating the idea first in case someone else might be able to help improve it.
This is pretty good for a "just before bed" idea. Mine are usually total crap.
sounds like a viable plan, might be a bit hard to execute though
Of course Indonesia would want to give it back 😉
Good idea. I'm looking forward to seeing this put in practice.
"Of course Indonesia would want to give it back 😉"
If they don't want to give it back and we are living up to our side of the agreement we will have our answer on whether eIndo will hold up their end of the bargain. If they refuse to give WA back we have proof that they cannot be trusted and we can side with EDEN and have a real war for our land
This is one of the better ideas for facilitating the return of eWA that I've heard. A lot of work, yes, but we shouldn't shy away from that.
sounds good, you've got my vote 😃
I think this sounds like an interesting idea. I'd love to hear more on this topic.
great idea mate.
not a bad idea at all. Im still pretty new, but this sounds like it could be a solution.
Such a sad future for WA.
Good idea. Will watch with interest.
I like it, you have my support.
Hmmm, I'm sceptical that this could work, but it's worth looking into.
What we'd really need is to find a neutral country with an excess of workers that we can tap into. Any other country would be loathe to send its workers away.
It's possible; and even if it doesn't solve all oft he problem, every little helps. However, remember that investors will want valuable companies - while this will help with the Grain and Diamond companies, the rubbish companies (Iron etc) will remain eAus' problem.
This is part of what I wanted with WA moving from enation to enation, so that investors in eArgentina, eBrazil and eSA could buy companies with cheap export licenses to their own enations.
how long do you think it would take to get other countries on board if we went ahead with this. Sounds like a great idea, and one worth exploring.
Well as long as these foreign investors are from trustworthy countries, and not a bunch of Hungarians.
Supported! Fantastic idea.
Someone can correct me on this but I have no understanding as to why we have buy the WA companies. WA companies are presumably owned by private individuals as are all companies. So how does us paying money to the Indonesian Government actually give us an entitlement to those companies??? If the Indo Government is actually making a profit on their Govt owned companies - think we should invite them here to run ours.
I had a dream
I dreamt of a new Auseaid program
I dreamt that we shipped all below 30 wellness Aussie citizens to WA.
We forced them to work for corporations we forced them to work harder at demanding pay rises and the harder they worked the lower their health. We forced them to change jobs at the drop of a hat without giving notice. We forced them to email their managers with their most bizarre ideas. We force them not to respond to their managers emails. We forbade them from purchasing anything from the market.
I could see WA company managers two clicking a horror story as they reviewed their sales and profit charts heading for the floor. Scratching their heads trying to get their head around replies to their mail boxes.
I could hear their cries – what plague have you brought upon us – this land is cursed
I could hear the pleas for PEACE.
Someone please take out land, please take our companies we can not take it any more.
"If they refuse to give WA back we have proof that they cannot be trusted and we can side with EDEN and have a real war for our land"
I like this part..... voted!
Sound thinking. Should be good...
@ cowox: Don't be so confident of your military might! If we DO start a war against you we'll most surely win!
How?
We'll... um... what was that about those companies again?
Good idea, but I think it's not feasible.
I briefly mentioned this idea in my own article yesterday.
A candidate senator for the AMP had mailed me regarding it and according to him negotiations have already been in progress with neutral nations to help in a joint buy back.
It's not a new idea, but I think it's a good one.
I like this idea it is similar to the one I have written:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1st-issue-oct-20-day-700-992430/1/20" target="_blank">http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1st-[..]1/20
A very good plan, but I'd like to see how it can truly be accomplished.
I wonder how the government sees this proposition...
