THESSALONIKI is located in the northern part of GREECE and is the capital of MAKEDONIA region.
It was founded in 315 BC by Kassandros a Macedonian king.He named it after his wife, the sister of Alexander the 3rd (the great).
It is the second largest city in Greece with a population of 1 million.
